Re: Interesting Hartge Mercedes fitted with M88.

That's a quite funny thing due the fact that some of the Hartge brothers founded Carlsson to tune Mercedes back in the 1990s. Today Carlsson was sold and Hartge was closed. So sad to see the former Hartge plant in my region being lost. Carlsson is doing exclusive service and modifications owned by a...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Replaced the very wobbly shifter linkage in my M635 with new parts. Replaced the shifting rod and the T-linkage without removing the drive shaft. Quite a challenge, but feels so much more precise now. Also fitted the original round shifter head I found in mint condition at the Veterama som...

Re: wind noise ... how to hush it down a bit??

May you should replace the sunroof seal. It's not that big deal and helped quite a bit on my M. The seal was pretty squeezed together before adjusting. So it wasn't sealing anymore. Otherwise you may press the door seal from the inside while driving. That's how I found the exact noisy position. Some...

Re: My Favorite E24

Wow. Nice condition. I'm always a fan of well detailed cars. Just the M-badge next to the 628 looks a little bit   The speaker pods are nice integrated in the carpet, but don't realy meet my taste. I prefer the old rough sound of the stock system. Isn't the drivers speaker to close to...

Replaced the breake pedal bearing as it was moving sideways some mm. As I'm picky it drove my crazy. Theory: From the drawings it looks like your just replace two inserts (#9). http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=5531-EUR-05-1984-E24-BMW-M635CSi&diagId=35_0053 Reality: There is only one...

Re: BMW 100 Year Centenary Festival

I'm back home after a 940 km roundtrip, including the BMW recommended Tegernsee-tour. It was such an outstanding expierence. I'd guess it was an once in lifetime chance. Hopefully I'll post a large set of pictures soon. I'm still wondering that we could enter the holy halls with stuff like the goldf...

It's such a nice landscape up there. Some day I need to bring my M635 there too.
Is your front licence plate properly mounted. It looks a bit tilted.

Will you bring Cosmo to munich on the weekend?

Re: Radio stuck

Normaly you should be able to pull out the radio of the frame. The frame can stay in the console. Some BMW radios fit in there without this frame.

You can hardly assume function from the manufacturer name. Hella and VDO produce all kind of car electronics.
The black box under the dash is the intensive washer controller (Steuergerät für Intensivreinigung).

Has anyone done silver stripes on diamantschwarz? I'd love to see a picture please. How difficult was it to apply? Does this help: BMW Black with silver stripes (old stripes for the very first euro M)? Attaching is not to difficult if you work precise and got a wrapping blade. Just fix it with some...

Re: Central console - how to open up?

In the earlier post 82 E24 you can remove the black brush and push out these two squares on the right from the inside. Should be possible without removing the brush too.
Below you'll find a hex bolt. Withe these two removed you can remove the comsole.
