Re: The Vintage 2023 Hot Springs NC
Well I made it last year with no issues. Plan to be back this year with new paint and interior, maybe functioning A/C.. that said, last I heard registration was at the max of about 450. To be clear registration is just for your car, you can park across the street and walk in no charge. Also the Frid...

Re: Rubber bumper repair
Very nice and glad you were able to repair. I have been looking for a left side bumper end cap for my 87 M6 for months, all of them I find have the mounting rusted out.

US rubber bumper end cap
All, 87 M6 is wrapping up paint but still looking for a couple of hard to find parts. I did find a right bumper cap in great shape, mounting hardware all totally intact, but still looking for the left side P/N 51 11 1 869 769. Any leads would be greatly appreciated, or ideas on how to restore the ru...

Paint single stage or clear coat
Pretty sure I know the answer, but looking to confirm, I am getting bodywork and paint on my 87 M6, it's red (cinnibar?) and I am looking to keep it as original looking as I can. I recall seeing repainted older cars with clear coat that just didn't look right..

The Vintage 2023 Hot Springs NC
I am planning to attend this year's Vintage, been reading about it for years and it's on the bucket list. I plan to drive my M6 down I guess driving a 35 year old car is part of the experience, but as you guys know no matter how well you prepare.. Anyone going from the Ohio area going? I would love ...

Paint Estimate?
I am sure this has been asked, but hopefully not in the last year or so.. Has anyone had your whole car painted? I am just wondering if $12K is in the ball park? This is glass out, trim off, from a place that specializes in BMW restorations and cheap isn't the priority, just want to know if it's rea...

Evan,
Nice list of rides.. You might try Best
https://bestmotorwerks.com/
Not sure what vintage work they do, I have discussed having them work on my e24 M6. I have used them on my 323i.. they seem very knowledgeable and are highly recommended by a few of my BMW/Gear head friends.

I realize this is an old post, but I had contact info for a place on the west coast that did it, but pricey like $5K and that was a few years ago. If your interested I could dig it up.

Re: M635 Wizard Radiator
My recollection is that they have no problem with customization, I know I added a drain cock to mine and they sent me a drawing with a lot of details to confirm. I guess I am suggesting get a drawing and compare it to your existing dimensions. I can tell you the fit was very tight between the distri...

SuperSprint Perf Exhaust Experience?
Anyone have any experience or feedback on SuperSprint Exhaust system for M cars? Turner Motorsports is running a 25% off and free shipping (which they seem to do several times a year). I was thinking of doing the full system including headers, cat delete, resonator and muffler. Goal is something tha...

87 M6 Shift knob
All, Attached is a photo of two shift knobs. The one on the left came from my car and I am looking to replace it as the leather is worn and it does not attach well to the shifter (comes loose just when I forget and try to shift quickly). That shifter has been on the car since I bought it about 20 ye...

Re: Brake service 87 M6
I am just wrapping first stage of brake overhaul on my 87 M6 with similar miles. So stage 1 was rebuild front and rear calipers, new front pistons, new seals all around, SS brake lines and rotors. I just need to put the rebuilt caliper onto rear passenger side to wrap up. Stage 2 will be master cyli...

Thanks Brucey! That probably how it came to show up under ignition parts on AutohauzAZ's web site.

Re: e24 M6 Ballast Resistor?
Well, my understanding is a "ballast resister" is usually in series with the ignition coil and ground. The M6 not having one WOULD explain why I couldn't find it in the ETM. AutohausAZ clearly thinks there is one on a 87 M6, Bosch p/n 0227901013, see link below http://www.autohausaz.com/pn...

e24 M6 Ballast Resistor?
I bought a new ballast resistor when I over hauled my ignition system, but was never able to locate the old one. Any one know where it is on the E24 M6?
Thanks in advance,

Re: Fuel pump in boot floor m6
There is an AirTex pump that fits, but as I recall they show the correct one for the M5 but the one they list for the M6 doesn't really fit. I ordered and installed the m5 pump and it worked, but was still cutting out under repeated hard acceleration. My final solution was the TRE-340 255 LPH pump, ...

GoodM3 - Did you find a shift knob? I am looking for one for my 87 M6. The only ones I see that look close are on ebay. The ebay knobs have the wrong sticker on top (no M) but I did find replacement sticker. Just looking to see if anyone has found one they are happy with.

Re: Miss fuel
You could always drain the tank, but then you have the issue of disposing of the old gas. That said, I agree with Dean, that's a pretty small amount of diesel.
