Interior Door Handle feels broken

Hello everyone. My interior door handle over the past few weeks has started to become difficult to use. It feels like it's pivoting or lifting up out of it's cavity. Sometimes the interior door handle surround will pop out. If I hold the surround firmly against the door card, the handle will work as...

Re: Clutch Problems

Slave Cylinder - definitely the slave cylinder. I ended up buying 1 from Napa for $40 and it was in a Febi box, but was a much lighter unit than the Febi that was on the car. Also, the new Febi unit also had URO stamped on the cylinder along with FEBI. Anyways, I hooked it up, bled it and ripped aro...

Re: Clutch Problems

So I got a chance under the car and had a look around. A little bit of fluid was coming from the drivers side of the tranny (not a lot as it was road gunked up). I went ahead and bled the slave cylinder and cleaned up the area really good. I then went back and pushed the clutch and to my surprise it...

Clutch Problems

On the way home today the clutch mysteriously started engaging way lower than normal (almost all the way to the floor). The clutch still felt strong, but the pedal/clutch was engaging very low. The pedal will come all the up way up and rest in normal position without help from me. The bracket is not...

Re: Windshield Wipers Jumping

I know, I know... I should've addressed this issue 2 years ago, but life's gotten in the way and I just don't drive the car in the rain. Question for the brain trust: The wipers move fluid/smooth with the setting is set to fast or I manually hold the single pass (down). If I momentarily push the sin...

Brake Bomb - My Brakes Are Back

Months after buying a new accumulator via Pelican and looking at the replacement project like PeeWee Herman looking at the snake fire rescue, I finally dug into the job. Wasn't that bad. I made sure I had crow feet flare nut wrenches and various extensions to get the fittings off before I removed th...

The replacement Bosch sensor has a crush washer so I'm going to torque to 20ft/lb and call it a day.

Oil Pressure Sensor Question

The existing Oil Pressure Sensor on the rear of the head is causing an awful leak and is being replaced tonight. I don't see a torque rating for this sensor in the Bentley or haven't found it in the search engine. I was thinking 20ft/lb similar to the Bentley Oil Pressure Switch spec, is this correc...

Re: Euro Bumpers Front/Rear

Yes sir. This is why it's taken me so long to convert. I figure if I'm replacing rear bumper (I know it's not bolt on), why not get the pair and get it done the way I like it. I know it's an undertaking by reading through the posts.

Thanks for the heads up,
Brandon

Euro Bumpers Front/Rear

This past weekend was rear ended and I've decided this is the time to go the Euro route if I can find a set of bumpers/etc. Please let me know if you have anything I need. '83 633.

Thanks for any assistance,

Small Coolant Leak

I've recently noticed a small coolant leak around the area of the bypass coolant hose/radiator connection. I went ahead and replaced the existing bypass hose as it was pretty brittle and had cracks. After wiping the area of coolant, I've noticed the coolant streaks are back and there's definitely a ...

Acceleration Shudder Gone

So I received the rebuilt DS from Driveshaft Specialist (TX) on Thursday. Packaging was good and the DS was well protected for shipping. The job wasn't too bad. Removal of the rear shaft and replacement of the new shaft took about 5 hours. If I had to do it again, I could easily cut it to 2-3 hours ...

Conez0, thanks for the tips. All points well taken and will try to take of pics and record the drama of installing a new driveshaft.

Re: Have a few drive shaft/guibo/CB questions

After a little bit of research and calling around I went with Driveshaft Specialist (San Antonio, TX). Craig was very helpful over the phone and explained the "red stuff" coming out of the joints was rust and should probably be scheduled to be replaced. So I took the dive and purchased a reman. $383...

Re: Have a few drive shaft/guibo/CB questions

Thanks Ralph. After damaging the brand new CB trying to mount it on the shaft, I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a rebuilt driveshaft. I'm at 140K miles and I'm somewhat worried about the joints. It looks like the going rate for a rebuilt DS is approx $400. Anyone have great experience with a ...

Have a few drive shaft/guibo/CB questions

I finally got an opportunity to remove my drive shaft to replace the Guibo and Center Bearing. The car has been slightly shuddering on moderate acceleration in 1-2 gear right around 2200-2400 rpm. Once I removed the drive shaft (the next time/2nd time I remove it will be much faster/easier), I inspe...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Still have to replace the dang drive-shaft CB. Replace the flex disc at the same time. Perfect time to do it. Completely agree. I have both parts (flex/CB), but haven't had the guts to start yet. I've been about 1.5 weeks without some kind of car and/or guitar project, so I think I'm good to start ...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

- Oil Change - Brad Penn 15w40, Mann Filter - Power steering fluid flush and filter replacement - 2nd clip kind of sucked to figure out how it came out.
