Re: 86 635 on BaT
I was an early bidder but it went for rather more than I had anticipated! They say BaT brings high prices...

Song-
I’m up in Sonoma, and we watch the fire maps more than television.
Drive the car you’ve spent so much energy on to the nearest large parking lot and leave it smack dab in the middle.
I’ve evaced without plans for my Sixer or my Austin Healey, but I have one now.

My 535d has the heads up display. I didn’t think it would be anything special but it really is a great driving aid. Enjoy!

Passed Smog, But D'oh!
Not very useful to anyone but my '83 633 passed Cali smog test on Friday with flying colors. I didn't do any prep - just took a chance and came up a winner. The tech did point out to me that the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator was disconnected, and that some idiot had trapped the vacuum l...

Re: M6 Roadtrip Down California Hwy 1 - Suggestions?
I would visit Bodega Bay rather than stay. If you need a break in the trip on the north coast I would swing into Santa Rosa for cheaper accommodations and far wider food options, and much, much lower fuel costs. I was at BB last week and the sole gas station offered almost $5 per gallon. San Francis...

Re: M6 Roadtrip Down California Hwy 1 - Suggestions?
I'm pretty familiar with the north coast as I live in Sonoma. You'll have to do some planning coming down from Eureka - not a lot of amenities along the way. When you get to Sonoma County I would recommend a stop at Bodega Bay. Drive out to the point for a pretty bracing view (bring a windbreaker). ...

Song- With regard to wiring up the fogs, I hope you find what I did on my '83. The wiring harness was already set up, I just needed to connect the switch and the fogs. I sourced the switch from a scrap yard. Be sure to get the dashboard insert panel too. It is slightly different than the blanking pa...

Re: Pacific Sharkfest date and location are set!!!
Hey, from a nearby local, this is a good schedule. I would add Ginochio's Kitchen in Bodega Bay as a good lunch spot on Sunday. And for those of you looking for something to do on Sunday, there's a great historic racing event at Sonoma Raceway (nee Sears Point Raceway) that weekend, with an entrance...

Definitely Get The Benz
I had a Benz 300CD and have to say it was the best daily driver I ever had. Engine never needed any work as I got to 450k miles. The body was solid as a vault. Things like AC, window lifts, and of course suspension wore out so needed some serious servicing. 30 mpg no matter what driving you did, and...
