Re: M6 E24 won't start

Thanks to all that have offered ideas. We worked on the car this weekend. Checked fuel supply, removed hose and pumped fuel into bucket looks like it is getting enough fuel. The return line has been blown out as well. Ran compression test, all are about 125 with the exception of #5 which is about 10...

Engine running rough, light smoke out of exhaust

My 87 M6 has been sitting for 6-8 weeks while i got the time to change the steering pump. When I started it up it was running rough and smoking lightly. I pulled the plugs and they have oil on the threads. I have some idea's about what has happened but would like other idea's before I dig any deeper.

Re: Looking for an early height adjustable seat base

Hi Mark,
I am parting out a 81 635 csi Euro spec and am pretty sure the seat base is in working order.
I live in Medina.
Let me know if you are still looking.

Thanks for your info.
I have another AFM I can put on but I don't know what condition it is in. Is there any way of bench testing the AFM to know if it is working properly?

87 M6 down on power

I am working through bringing my M6 back to life and now have the following issue to solve. Going through the gears I find that when I hit 3K in 1st, 2nd and 3rd the power seems to drop off. Up to 3k the engine pulls strongly 4th an 5th are pretty mild with no strong pull at full throttle. The engin...

OBC code 87 M6

Working to get my 87 M6 running. Don't have the OBC code and the car will not start unless I bypass (jump the relay) on the OBC. Does anyone know how to get the four digit code, can the OBC be scanned? No codes, manual or paper work came with the car. It also has a remote door lock that I believe wo...

Re: M6 brake bleed problem

Great info, thanks to all. I am using the step hard on the brake pedal, hold down, open bleeder valve and then tighten, release brake pedal. The sequence is RR, LR, RF, LF. (M6 has dual front bleeders, inside outside sequence) Will try bleeding in a different sequence

Re: M6 brake bleed problem

Thanks for your thoughts, I was told that if the master cyl. were bad the brake pedal would be hard. My pedal is soft, do I have some bad info? What do you think?

M6 brake bleed problem

I am having trouble keeping brake pressure in my 87 M6. I have bled the brakes several times and gained good brake pressure. The trouble is that the next day I have a soft pedal again. I have looked for leaks at each of the calibers and cannot and cannot find any. I have rebuilt the front brakes and...
