Re: Front bumper ends

I ran into an old buddy at the last SESF who had a new one. Said it was the last one in stock. He paid and wanted $250. I just can't pay that much when there's got to be some good used ones out there. My 6 is no show car and $500 to dress up the front end on both ends is unlikely to happen. Used one...

Front bumper ends

I'm posting everywhere for these. These are exterior so a good spot to try. What I'm looking for is a good set of front bumper ends for an '87 and back. The ends have the orange/yellow reflector. Need to have all the mounting studs in place. That's the problem with mine. The studs are no more, missi...

Re: Early euro 633csi part out and 635csi drivetrain part out

Looking for a set of good front bumper ends. The rubber ends that have the orange/yellow reflector. I see the last post before this one is looking for front end parts. If the ends are available I'm still looking. They need to have all the mounting studs in place. Thanks Dave

Re: Wanted: Front bumper ends (bellows) for my '87

Thanks Pod for the response. Fortunately my window rubbers seem to be in decent shape. I wonder if it's the rear window rubbers are what's responsible for starting the rust I have at the bottom of the rear wheel wells. It's at the front of rear wheel wells at the bottom close to the lift point on bo...

Re: Wanted: Front bumper ends (bellows) for my '87

Should add that I need them for the '87 and back diving board bumpers. Unfortunately the 88-89 bumper ends won't work. Would be great if I had a world bumper setup as they'd never need replaced. I'm in the Louisville area. All 3 6's I've had over 22 years each had this rusted on the inside problem. ...

Wanted: Front bumper ends (bellows) for my '87

Need a good set of front bumper ends for my '87 6er. Also called bellows and is the part with the orange reflector. Need to hold their shape and have all mounting studs in place. Unfortunately in my region the metal on the inside just turns to rust and it rattles and shakes out when shaken. And the ...

Re: 1979 635csi Euro M90 5 Spd

Very nice for the year. One thing I notice in the pics is the shifter knob. I have the same one in mine. It was in the 1st bimmer I bought back around '95. And I have kept it and used it in all 5 manuals I've had since. Don't see this style hardly anymore.

Re: Upgrading shift linkage

I have the sheet metal console on mine as well. Is a 265/6 trans. I'm wanting to upgrade to the aluminum on mine. What I've heard is that the 265 was used on the E30 M3 and there's a bracket that fits to where the sheet metal console mounts. The bracket fits to those mounts at the rear of the trans ...

Re: Looking for next 6- Maybe

Well I did jump the gun. Dude from Indy. backed out. Looks like I'll keep my own 6. I don't have a problem with that as it's a very nice driver and I know it in and out. It's just that during the trying to sell to buy another got me thinking about the next one being rust free. I've pretty much taken...

Re: Looking for next 6- Maybe

I hear what you're saying. Actually the pure gold car I was interested in is in Tennessee and the seller says it is/was a Texas car. No rust that I found on my inspection and even had a crack free dash. Interior looked nice as well, though it is Lotus white which I'm not too crazy about. If mine doe...

Looking for next 6- Maybe

Could be jumping the gun here. But have had mine for sale for a couple months to purchase an '88 5 speed. Well the seller of the '88 has suddenly informed that his offer price we agreed upon has "Expired". And that through his research his '88 factory 5 speed is "Pure Gold". Guy ...

Re: e24 no start questions

It happens in all yrs with the OBC relay box. But I've seem it happen to a few '88's. There's a relay in the OBC relay box that when it fails a running car dies and won't restart. Might start after a cool down but die again as it heats up. There's 2 green wires going to the relay box that can be jum...

For Sale- My 1987 635CSI in KY. $6,350

Selling my "87 6. Had no intention whatsoever to offer it up F/S. I'm completely happy with this fine ride, but had a lead on an '88 project that's sat for at least 5 yrs and it has much potential when finished. Supposedly a Texas car. I've done all work myself just as I've on every car I've ow...

I haven't seen this mentioned over the years. But since getting into Beemer airhead motorcycles some of the tool kits will come with the small red reversible screw driver. You can sometimes find the whole tool kit for less than what you'd pay for a single screw driver. Not all have the red, but they...

Ellipsoid low beam wiring- Going from 3 wire '87 to 2 wire

I've searched and will do more. Have found much discussion converting to Ellipsoid, but wiring to the low beam is not really clarified. The issue on going from 3 wire-dual sealed beam filament low beam to the 2 wire low beam ellipsoid is operation of the low beam. Turning on the headlights low beam ...

Don't know if you have the clearance. I've heard this but not tried it. If you have a socket that hammers on real tight you have a chance to remove it.

Wish you were around the Louisville area, and that you had a 3:46 limited slip. A couple years ago I installed a 3:73 with all new seals. I'm ready to go back to the stock 3:46. Would do a straight up trade. Might even consider going to a 3:25. Not wanting to ship this heavy chunk leaving the car do...
