Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
update on the running issues. I installed a new Fuel Pressure Regulator, filter, new fuel pump, re-set the timing and the car still runs horribly rough when cold but does "catch" itself after warmed up and runs fine. Albeit still rich. It will now at least rev out freely and not be limited...

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
Yes, my CTS is under the intake manifold. It provides the signal to the ECU. There is another CTS on the thermostat housing but it only runs the gauge and warning light.
I do have another AFM and have installed it. Made no difference at all.

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
It's looking more and more like it could be the ECU at fault here. I do not have another ECU to try out unfortunately. I would be interested in purchasing one.

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
I replaced the coolant temp sensor that resides under the intake manifold thinking it may be bad. Car starts and runs a bit better but it may just be my imagination. What definitely hasn't changed is that I cannot get it to rev past 3200 RPM without it cutting out as if it's hitting a limiter. Here ...

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
It doesn't cut out completly, just runs real "dirty" and doesn't rev past 3k. This car doesn't get exercised a lot...every couple of months I'll take it out. There are times when I get the starting procedure just right (quick little jabs at the throttle until it cleans up its act and will ...

Re: 1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
Checked fuel pressure today and it's reading 37 PSI which is spot on. I took the distributor out and checked the vacuum advance mechanism and it turned back and forth freely. Placed a vacuum pump on both nipples and it held vacuum. Changed out the coil with another unit I had and the car still runs ...

I will check fuel pressure at the rail and take a good look at the distributor. Many thanks. I will report back.

1978 Euro 635CSi rev issues
Hi all. Haven't posted in a while. My 1978 eurospec 635 CSI is having some rough idling, rough cold start, rich running and rev limiter issues. Once I get some temperature in the engine it starts and runs fine but cuts out at around 3,200 RPM which sounds like it's bouncing off the rev limiter. Very...

AFM from Euro 628CSi
Hi all, I have an AFM from my '85 Alpina B6 2.8 sent out to Bavarian Restoration for diagnostics / calibration. They're having trouble finding calibration specs for this AFM. Although the Alpina B6 2.8 is based on an E30 car, the engine Alpina used in it was sourced from a 528i / 728i / 628CSi (M30B...

Re: Euro bumper compatibility
Hi there. Looks like you may have a little problem on your hands now that the car has been painted. That tab needs to come off. I cut mine off completely and then carefully filed down the cut with a good quality, wide metal file to make it look completely stock. I just followed the contour of the pa...

Hi, Yes, the complete shell is still available. I still haven't removed the M90 engine. I've only removed the driver side fender (still have it), front and rear bumpers. Here is what's left: Complete roller with Euro tank, fenders, doors, pedal box, exhaust (it has been butchered...it's not the comp...

Re: Euro E12 parts for sale
Still have this chassis with M90 engine installed. I'm selling the complete exhaust system from down-pipes back to muffler. Previous owner had cut it into 3 sections. This will make it easy to ship I suppose. $280. Center resonator and rear muffler are in great shape. Some evidence of welding has be...

Re: Euro E12 parts for sale
Here are some better pix of the taillight bezels. You can clearly that on each bezel there's one imperfection with chrome starting to blister a bit. Shipping to Australia will run $67.10. That's the cheapest route.
thanks and let me know...

Re: Euro E12 parts for sale
Hi. Yes, I'll ship anywhere. I'll box them up and get a shipping quote from post office. Is it just the chrome bezels you want or the bulb unit as well? Would probably save you a few bucks if I just shipped the bezels. Your call.

Euro E12 parts for sale
Hi, I've begun parting out the '79 635CSi. Have several parts off the car and for sale. Car itself still has the M90 motor in it. I'd like to sell the engine with the car just for transportation purposes. Tow it home or have it picked up and then sell to shell or god forbid call the scrap yard and r...
