FS '79 E24 Kyle Texas $5500

I'm not affiliated and haven't seen the car. Seems priced right if there isn't any rust.

Re: OBC Removal to Install New LED Light Bar

LEDs tend to be more directional than incandescent (e.g. 180 deg light pattern) which is not the same as polarization. I think the issue with my OBC is related to screen bleed/backlight bleed which is a degradation of the LCD screen itself. I just so happen to have the OBC out of Dean Cains' '85 as ...

Re: OBC Removal to Install New LED Light Bar

Hi Jono,
Thanks for the feedback. I may try to find a way to dim the existing led or replace it with a dimmer one.

LED Dash lights

I've tried several different brand of LED lights for the 2 red instrument cluster lights and learned a couple things that might be helpful to others. The LED bulbs that will physically fit are in the T10 form factor. Some of these bulbs have a single electrical pad on either side of the tab that goe...

Re: OBC Removal to Install New LED Light Bar

Here is a picture. The image at the right is what I see from my seat position. The image at left is from an angle slightly lower and to the left of my seating position. I think I had the same issue before the LED upgrade so perhaps it is just my unfortunate seating placement and angle. https://farm5...

Re: OBC Removal to Install New LED Light Bar

I have an odd issue with my OBC and wondering if anyone has a solution. From my particular seating position the readout is so washout out that it is barely readable. If I move my head to the left or down to view it from a different angle it become very clear. I have replaced the light with the LED u...

I purchased several recaro seat parts as well as a complete set of leather seat covers from Dave Varco at aardvark racing. Dave was very good to work with and the seats turned out excellent.

WTB Trashed 83-89 Heater Control HVAC Panel-FOUND

Does anyone happen to have a HVAC control panel you might let go for cheap. Mine has lost the top left vent closed indicator light cover and I'm looking for a replacement. This is the very small square black plastic piece with a solid white circle in the middle. There is an entire panel for sale on ...

Re: Adding OEM cruise control?

Hi Brucey, My longest highway trip has been 8 hrs each way and most of the millage I put on her is from 3~4 hr drives on the highway. I think cruise control is a nice to have for my situation. It reduces driving fatigue a bit and can result in increased mpg/range. On a recent trip to Carlsbad New Me...

Adding OEM cruise control?

Hi, I have a '85 635CSi Euro with a manual transmission that did not come with cruise control from the factory. Does anyone have a link to a write up or thread showing how to do it..gotchas etc. ?

I don't have any of the the parts yet.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Scored a NOS E24 positive battery cable on ebay a few months ago and finally installed it about a month ago. To my surprise it seemed to have fixed an intermittent oil level light issue I've been having for a couple of years. I had cleaned the oil level sensor and inspected the warning light panel f...

Re: Rial Mesh or similar wheels

I have the original 14" BBS mesh wheels that come on my '85 635 Euro. They have brand new BMW center caps installed. Very good condition for being on the car for 20+ years. They are located in Fort Worth so you wouldn't have to ship them :) You have very few options for tires but I think some white ...

I don't think you would have any clearance issues but I'd expect the speedometer to read ~3.2% slower per the calculation here: https://tiresize.com/comparison/

My car's color is cosmos blue. I'm wondering what color strips would typically have been installed on it?

It originally came with a two color pin strip which I removed due to its poor condition.

Re: Finally! '85 635CSi - Euro-Spec-Stick!

My dash has a couple cracks in the same place as yours...and I'm ok with it :) I'd start with making sure your existing linkage is in good shape. Mine was missing a screw holding the sheet metal plate to the transmission and the sheet metal plate eventually broken in half at the weld. When new and p...

Re: Finally! '85 635CSi - Euro-Spec-Stick!

I think you got a good price provided the rust repair isn't any worse than it appears. Engine bay looks like the PO kept up with preventive maintenance...judging by new looking belts etc. I spent lots of $ and time catching up on preventative maintenance on my '85 Euro after I bought it but enjoyed ...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Calibrated my speedometer...so it now reads exactly the same as my gps in the 60~80mph range and about 1mph fast at 40mph. Previously it was reading about 10% fast which was a bit much for my likeing. My '85 e24 Euro had the speedometer replaced with a US spec version during federalization. Upon ins...

Re: injectors 1982 635 csi euro manual in australia

Richard, I had the low-impedance injectors on my '83 635 rebuilt after finding no replacements available. It is likely your best option. They should also flow test them to see if they are well matched. You can measure the impedance of your injectors to know for sure if they are low(~2.5Ohm) or high(...
