Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Brought her out of slumber, and ordered a custom plate which will arrive soon. B3TYWHT will be on the plate. My dirt roads are hell, but I made it out of my neighborhood without major incident or dirtying. She's as glorious as ever to drive. Drive was great, no traffic, a great morning, and then it ...

Re: Amazing what a wax and a new set of wheels can do.

Gorgeous! Wow, really that's the best I've ever seen of that color on any BMW. Keep it up. My car can't hold a candle to yours for condition, but we both share early '89 build 5-speed cars. In case you're not aware of the rarity of yours, it's one of 61 5-speed, 1989 model year cars in the US. So th...

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

Well, it's been a rough, long winter here in Michigan, but I think it's finally giving up the ghost. Decided it was time to get my 6er back on the road, after a close encounter with selling her. When someone actually called me up wanting to buy the car, it got too real, and I knew she had to stay as...

Full Power E28 Pearl Beige Sport Seats - Mid-Michigan

Hey guys, I've got a pair of Pearl Biege sport seats for sale. Full power seats. Should be heated as well. E28 specific, and possibly up to mid-1987 E24. Not sure of exact year range. Can get pictures of electrical harnesses too. Will bolt into E24, but have no back seat access handle. Plugs and pin...

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

Reached a point recently where I thought I had lost love for the car with all of its small issues nipping away at my patience, but I overcame it with some research. I've found my car to be 1 of 61 US delivered manual 1989 coupes! That's 50 times the rarity of the next rarest vehicle I have. Pretty e...

WTB: Front Sport Seats or Good Comfort Seats - Natur Leather

Hey guys, I'm looking for ANY set of sport seats (E30, E28, E24) with good frames and foam, don't care about the leather condition. OR I'm looking for a good driver front comfort seat in Natur color with good leather and foam. Mine is so worn out that I sit on the frame instead of a sprung cushion. ...

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

So, the selector rod broke last night while I was fiddling under the car trying to find what was wrong with my shifter! Last week Thursday I was driving home from work and suddenly it seemed as though my right-left limits had greatly increased. I could hit both sides of the console but couldn't get ...

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

Do you calculate your fuel economy manually or go by the OBC? I have the same car in auto an get 13 mpg according to my OBC but I do have an exhaust leak and probably need a new O2 sensor. Also surprised how much of a difference the spoiler makes. Your car looks 20X better than mine since it has th...

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

Wow, so Photobucket finally killed off 3rd party sharing. Sweet. Guess I'll just be re-storing and re-sharing all my photos. Anyways, I need to check out my shifter. As of this morning, I cannot get 5th gear without going from 4th to neutral, moving the shifter full left (basically to reverse line),...

WTB: B35 Exhaust Manifolds - Needed ASAP

BMW wants $270 per. I can't afford that and the exhaust shop doesn't want to inevitably destroy my existing (112k miles) ones.

Does anyone have some they can ship me more reasonably?

I'm looking for as quickly as possible.

Thanks!

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

Catback was done to my liking, thankfully. Sounds great, and has an awesome idle tone! However, I need to curb the exhaust leak up front from the decimated flex joint on the stock pipe. Mine is taking another trip back into the exhaust shop to have new downpipes installed. Bought a set from a decent...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Mine is taking another trip back into the exhaust shop to have new downpipes installed. Bought a set from a decently reputable shop in Canada. Overall shape looks great, construction and weld quality leaves a bit to be desired, but pipe ID is 2" in the straight parts of the pipe, so larger than...

Re: 1989 635csi - A Hero Car

Correct about back pressure. I understand that. My car has two straight pipes at 1.875" OD right now, from roughly the cat back. Technically smaller from stock. They slide into the stock pipes, so my thought is that the original pipes are approximately 50mm ID. Either way, I ordered some slick ...

yodman, while your exhaust shop may have done a bangup job, if they did not include a resonator in your system, that is likely your problem :( These cars (especially the M30) drone horribly without one, ask me how I know [-X Lookin' sharp otherwise  Love the shadowline trim over white =D> To...

This thread freaking delivers!

Beautiful cars.

I miss my 6 every day, and the snow has only just started here in Michigan.

I would love to watch your progress on these.

The 850 is the only car I would even consider selling or trading my 6 for. And only with a manual transmission.
