Re: Changing steering wheel, Airbag to M Tech I

I also would like a smaller more modern wheel on my M6. Is it very likely that my airbag is no longer functional? I hate to loose the safety factor if I can still depend on it.

Re: Orig. audio equipment

The radio is model KE81 with cassette. It would be a real bear to re-install these components as the wires are all cut.

Orig. audio equipment

I have the original Blaupunkt radio, multi disc trunk mounted player and trunk aux. amp from my '88 M6. Should I waste my time attempting to sell any of these, keep them to pass on when and if I sell the vehicle or through them in the trash?

Re: Looking for accessory power.

I also am looking to add an accessory port to keep my cell phone charged. The cig. lighter only seems to work if you hold in the end. I am thinking of taping into the rechargeable flashlight connector in the glove box.

No - one or two of the motors only click, are not running. I think the memory switch is involved.

I do believe it is motor related, as when I push the buttons, I can hear clicking from beneath the seat.

Seat adjustment motors

The driver's seat adjustments in my M6 work only inconsistently. Anyone know of someone who rebuilds the electrical motors?

Trans. fluid leak

My "88 M6 5 speed has a small but persistent leak from the output shaft seal. Now, the seal was changed a few thous. miles ago and I have refilled with Red Line MTL. Does someone make some kind of super duty seal or should I consider a heavier fluid?

Audio fader '88 M6

I am replacing my 18 yr. old Sony head unit with a new Alpine Bluetooth unit. As I am also chasing a recurrent background noise, I want to disable/disconnect the orig. dash mounted fader switch. Do I just unplug it, or do I have to sever or disconnect some wires - which ones?

I can send you the armrest postage paid for $30. It measures 12" X 6". The mount is 4" X 21/2". It is covered in black vinyl and has one tear (hole). I removed it from the driver's seat of my e30.

Re: Armrest install

I have a bolt on armrest just like the one pictured in the start of this article. It is black vinyl, but has a tear or hole in the cover. Could be worked on. I would sell it cheap - just so as not to have to throw it away. PM me if interested.
