Re: Tint or no Tint (surviving the summer)
Definitely tint! In 2015 I tinted my '86 e28 with LLumac ceramic tint: 35% on the sides,15% in the back and clear on the front. I live in Tucson so I am an expert on observing this sort of stuff. I immediately noticed a couple things: 1. Sitting in the sun, the interior will get just as hot as untin...

Re: OBC troubles. Solved thanks to...
Aloha! How did you get the OBC out? From what I understand I have to remove the center console, radio and surround that goes on the emergency brake and window switches. Have tried it yet, just want to make sure that I do it correctly and with little “fuss” as possible. Lots of things to go wrong/br...

Euro front center rubber bumper strip
Hard to tell from photos, but this is structurally perfect if dirty. I'll throw in a couple of the bolts that hold the side strips. $75.00 + shipping from 85718 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51685177554_8ff6d61779_b.jpg frbumpstrip3 by Kim Unger , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...

Re: Center console surround removal procedure?
Well, I wound up redying it still installed [-( I am very pleased with the results  Using the foam brush was the trick, although spraying would have been better  Here's a couple of shots, including while I have most everything removed from the dash, in part to hopefully sort out my charg...

Re: Help! WTB E24 blower switch
I was looking on and off for years, without success. In the end I eventually resigned myself to a repair , following the advice on Norm Grilles. Much easier than I thought, and it works perfectly now. I've successfully replaced the transistor but my potentiostat is also hosed. I pried the cover off...

OBC troubles. Solved thanks to...
Some dude named Norm Grills. Searching this site for at least an hour trying to find why my OBC is dead I came across a site by Norm Grills that showed a photo of an opened OBC box and a fuse location. Pulled my box, found the fuse and sure as shit the fuse was blown. (it was a 0.25A x 250V fuse. Gr...

Highly positive for 635csiSyd
All the way from Australia in the midst of a Covid-19 lockdown Ric got me a set of window strips in 10 days. Great communication, well packaged.
Wouldn't hesitate to do another multi-hundred $ deal with him.

Re: interior temp sender location
Hello Kim. It appears that your cover is missing the insulated cardboard extension that has slots for the pedals. The Temp sensor is mounted in the cardboard extension The rubber grommet at the bulkhead has a small round hole for the temp sensor tube. I have a spare tube but you should be able to f...

Wow! My kickpanel doesn't look anything like that: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51359272117_e002f34dbb_b.jpg e24 kickpanel by Kim Unger , on Flickr After looking at a whole bunch of RealOem's for a bunch of different e24's, the closest to what I have is an e12 535. Mine has a cutout for the h...

If this was my e28, I'd know the answer. But since there's no place on the kickpanel, I'm stumped. My ETM says 'Behind dash left of steering column' and a crappy picture that is not helpful. And where does the vac line run through the firewall?
Any and all help much appreciated!

e24 pearl beige front seats GONE!!!
e24 pearl beige front seats. All motors/functions work. Leather is quite good except for drivers left bolster. Missing 2 hinge covers and one base surround. I've been trying to sell these for quite a while (in fact I sold them once but the dickhead I sold them to has been 'arranging' transport for 6...

Re: Replacement battery pack for cordless power tool
Sorry if I am sort of highjacking this thread, but I couldn't resist... I received my first modern cordless when my daughter bought me a DeWalt flashlight with the 20vMax battery system. I love it, the battery lasts forever and it is bright as hell. The second, another gift from my son this time, a ...
