APEC ABS sensors

Quick question about sensors. Do the APEC ABS1167 (front) and 1168 (rear) fit/work on a 1989 635 CSi?

Re: Water Hoses set for M30b35 - 1989 High Line UK

Thanks Brucey, do you happen to know if the e34 ones will fit? My understanding is that the engine is essentially the same with some mods.

Water Hoses set for M30b35 - 1989 High Line UK

Hi, just after a bit of advice. I've been searching the usual places (Walloth & Nesch etc) for a full set of water hoses. I am thinking of pre-emptive maintenance and wanted to buy the full set, plus Thermostat, water pump etc. I believe I can get the Water Pump and Thermo from BMW (I want to ke...

Re: CTECK battery charger.

Ron, was yours one from eBay or Amazon? I have found 2 dud's (one from eBay and one from Amazon. I suspect they were cheap because of a faulty batch, or they were extremely good knock off replicas!! I have 2 from Halfords and they work faultlessly.

Hi mate - any idea of costs to ship a painted one to me and a non painted one too for comparison? I'm in Leicester. Can you please PM me a quote? I've been trying to send you messages but they stick in the outbox and will not send!

Re: WTB: m30b35 Rocker/Valve cover (88/89 High-line)

That looks good, is that powder coated or painted?

Also, on mine (as per the REALOEM link), there are 3 or so studs for attaching what I think must be the airflow meter? These are missing on your pic, though your pic could be for the M20?

Changing rocker cover gasket

Now this might sound like a dumb question, but that is because I have never changed one before, so pls be gentle! When replacing the Rocker cover gasket/seal, do you have to use any kind of gasket sealant on the M30, or can you just remove the old and replace with a clean new one and tighten up the ...

WTB: m30b35 Rocker/Valve cover (88/89 High-line)

Hi, mine has been beautifully painted/powder coated on the top, but the problem is that it has been done on the underside too and my garage has warned me that the job isn't brilliant underneath and could flake/contaminate the oil! So I'm looking for a Rocker cover for a Highline 635CSi (UK spec) fro...

Re: Hella headlights

So I have now finally done this, using jumper wires to bypass everything, right back to the battery, and still it is dim. I'm now thinking I need a new headlight.I think it might be a corroded reflector or something. I have been reading on here, and whilst I know that there are no other headlights t...

Re: Hella headlights

Thanks - will take a look. Interestingly the drivers side is really quite dirty in there, whereas the passenger side is pretty clean, no doubt due to the air intake.

It could well be a dodgy earth, will have a go at it this weekend.

Re: Hella headlights

Hi, just searching and came across this old post about a dim headlamp on a Highline 635CSi here in the UK. I have the exact problem but on the drivers side. The multimeter shows identical power to both sides of the car at the bulb connectors so I have narrowed it down to the lamp unit itself. I have...

Re: WTB: Just one Style 8 rim for a spare (16 inch)

Hi guys I've had no joy, so any one have a 16 inch wheel with 5/120 and ET 20 or less? To be honest even a steel wheel I think would do for the purposes of a spare, and then here's a question: Has anyone used a space saver on their E24, and if so is there a specific rim/ET size, or would any 5/120 g...

WTB: Just one Style 8 rim for a spare (16 inch)

Hi, as per the title, just looking for one alloy wheel as a spare for my 635CSi. Centre cap not needed, and condition not too important (i.e. not damaged so badly that it is unusable/unsafe - just usable and one that holds air is fine). These (as most of you will know) were from an 8 series. Though ...

WTB one Style 8 Alloy rim (16 inch)

If anyone has one- I have 4 on the car so could do with a matching one for the spare. Condition not too important - just needs to be useable.

Thanks in advance

Buzzing Idle Regulator Valve

Hi all, just a quick question. With the ignition in "on" position (engine off) the Idle Reg valve makes a buzzing sound - is this normal? The car has quite a lumpy idle, and I can find/see no obvious vacuum breaches. I unplugged the connector and wiring to it and immediately, as you would ...

Carbon Cleaning an e24

Seeing mine has about 145000 miles on the clock, and 30 years under it's belts, it no doubt has some soot build up in the engine. Is it safe to use these high temperature/combustion systems on these older cars? http://diagnostics.carbon-cleaning.co.uk/ppc-central-midlands/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjs-llvLS...

Re: Engine Temperature and Sensors

Thanks all for the responses. I am going to attempt to fix the temp gauge soon, and I know that I need to: 1) Take the lower panel off (4 or so screws) 2) Remove the check control (pry screen away and remove 3 screws) 3) Take steering wheel off (22mm socket with Extension) 4) Undo 2 bolts and drop t...
