'84 628csi Throttle cuts out

As the title says, occasionally when I give it some revs the throttle just stops, no response at all and then it comes back a little after. Now im thinking it may be the AFM as it appears to be a reconditioned unit and aged at that. Or possible the TPS. any suggestions or things i can check before i...

Re: Back on the road! (nearly)

Well I have managed to get 130 miles on it since I last posted, no real issues yet. The side windows on the doors are being a pain to set up, the diff has a slight weep. I think I may need new drive shafts also. I also found a couple of loose bolts but all in all nothing major really. Anyone got any...

oh i don't deny that to some that it is an important thing, i suppose applying too much logic to owning a retro classic is a fallacy anyway as there is abolutley no logic to owning an e24 its a terrible financial and totally illogical decision haha [-o< :-$

Re: TRX Tires Not So Bad

After a quick google 1 Trx tyre is between 220 and 350 per tyre for that price you can buy 2 Michelin pilot sport 4 s from black circles (in the nearest equivalent size) or conti sport contact 4s No. I'm sorry the TRX cannot compete pound for pound with modern tyres - even if the belting and compoun...

LeMons racing is a fine art indeed! I alwyas like the idea of a big six powered LeMons racer as they are pretty durable motors!

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Today: Fitted new ignition box, exhaust rear section, water pump, fan clutch, fan, radiator (and mounts). Started to fit the center console. Test fired the car and ran it for the first time in 2 1/2 years. Tomorrow I will fit a new thermostat and run it up to temperature then start fitting the rest...

Re: 1982 633CSI - Engine Locked up from sitting

Never encountered this problem before but my first move would be to pull the valve cover and see how the top end looks. The valve train and chain could surely benefit from lubrication although that may not be enough to get the engine freed up. Next up would be dropping the oil pan. Agreed. In all h...

That had failed, pretty sure having the battery backwards must have killed the microchip inside. Luckily my ecu appears to be fine as it starts and revs like a champ.

My 628csi

Before I took it off the road for rust repairs I did ~8000 Miles in one year with it. It was a smashing machine and never missed a beat except for a flat tyre and a leaking exhaust. https://live.staticflickr.com/1535/24246939504_5284c24e02_k.jpg IMG_7148IMG_7148 finished by Tom Caffry , on Flickr

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Received another batch of parts

Took photos of a bunch of engine electrics, relays, ecu and ignition boxes.

Stripped the distributor down and gave it a good coat of looking at.

Contemplated taking a match to it....

Re: 628csi Igntion system queries

the fuel injection ECU has precious little to do with the ignition system, so that would be the last thing I'd look at. That you have wet plugs and fuel smell may just mean that the cold start system is working (BTW when cranking it doesn't carry on spraying fuel indefinitely, that is what the ther...

Re: 628csi Igntion system queries

Thanks Brucey! Yeah I have no spark at all. It stinks if fuel but doesnt flood when cranking for a long time. Llugs are wet when removed after cranking also. Pretty confident that everything from coil onwards to plug is fine. Could the sensor in the dizzy need a clean? Fuel pump is also priming Afte...

](*,) And of course it's not the coil. So I have looked for the two sensors on the bell housing that I've seen people talk about on other threads but they straight up are not there. The two spots they're supposed to fit in are smooth and dont appear to exist. I'm getting 11.6v at the hot side of the...
