Replacement Front Floor panels / pans
Hey guys, I have 1982 633 (based on E12 chassis) and need replacement front floor pans (both driver and passenger sides) as mine are rusted. Are these still being sold somewhere or do I have to go a custom route? The only place I could find them on is "Jaymic Classic BMW Parts" in UK but i...

Re: Front valance and fog lights fitment
Fanatic, don't think those fog lamps from ECS are gonna work [-X What you have is a US version that was used prior to the world bumper update in '88 :-? That would be model years '85 through '87, although I have one from an '87 and it has openings or cutouts in the horizontal slats, presumed for ai...

Re: Front valance and fog lights fitment
Also, I would really appreciate if someone can help me identify the valance that I have (US vs Euro, model years, etc)? Thanks in advance.

Front valance and fog lights fitment
Hi guys, I have 1982 633CSi (E12 based) with US-style bumpers. I recently purchased the following valance (see below pic). I found a body shop which will restore and install it (they will make custom brackets). The only missing part is fog lights. I found these on ECS tuning website: https://www.ecs...

Re: Brake calipers question
I think the E28 calipers (front and rear) are only single piston floating type :-? But looking at your rebuild photos of the rear, I can now see that those are indeed E12 calipers, which are actually 2 piston fixed type =D> Bottom line, the correct kit should have a total of 6 lines for the E12 cha...

Re: Brake calipers question
Hey guys, I have a follow-up question re: brakes. I am looking to purchase a brake lines kit for my car. I found a few listings on ebay for APEX kits. Do e24s based on e12 chassis and the ones based on e28 chassis share the same brake lines? The ebay seller is offering the same kit for all 633 model...

Re: Brake calipers question
Ended up rebuilding the rear brakes myself. The pistons were completely seized on one of the brakes so only one side was working. Will be doing the fronts next. Took a bit of time to find the correct replacement parts for e12 based brakes but the result was well worth it :D Here is what I had to buy...

Re: Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
Do you know why 34-000243 and 24-007306 (B6) in the link that you've provided don't have pre-82 E24 in the list of compatible cars, only E12 528/530? I assume that's a typo? I would assume so; try checking the BMW parts database (ETK) to see that they are indeed one and the same thing. Good thing I...

Re: Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
by all means lower the car by 3/4" or so using proprietary springs and B6 dampers but after that you will get geometry changes and the B6 dampers may not be the best ones for the job. However you can try it and see if you like it and revert back to stock springs if you like with those dampers....

Re: Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
FWIW there are enough good suspension upgrades that don't require that your strut tubes are hacked about that I would question the purchase of any suspension that required this. For street use (with suspension that still, er, suspends, rather than rattles your fillings out of your teeth) I don't se...

Re: Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
FWIW you appear to have standard height suspension at the moment. Lowered looks better but it is not without compromise; you may run into obvious troubles with ride height/ground clearance and other troubles to do with suspension travel. There are less obvious issues with unintentional camber (fron...

Re: Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
Fanatic, those Ground Control bits won't work on your 6er, E28 chassis fitment [-X But here's a set of springs for ya, I actually know this gent, his name is Dale and he's in Buffalo =D> http://bigcoupe.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28830 If the B8 shocks/struts are Sport version, then yes, th...

Re: Brake calipers question
the later caliper won't fit over your disc. There are parts bin options for converting both disc and caliper to a different spec but I would suggest that you stick with the standard (E12 chassis) fitment if you can. IIRC the calipers use a piston size and seal/boot design that is common to other ca...

Re: Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
Hi Andy, welcome to the madness, nice looking example =D> In general, if you are going to use Bilstein Sports, you will need to also purchase a set of lowering springs, as they are designed for use with shorter springs :-" But as your goal is to lower the car, or at least the rear end, you wil...

Brake calipers question
Hey guys, My driver's side rear brake caliper started leaking brake fluid. I took the car to a local mechanic and he recommended replacing it. He isn't sure if it can be rebuilt due to its age/rust. I looked up the part number and it's 34211119211 (my car was built before 9/82). Any idea where I can...

Advice needed for suspension upgrade kit
Hey guys, This is my first post. I got my first 6-er (1982 633csi) last year. I've done a bunch of small things to the car (installing antenna, replacing missing interior trim pieces, etc) and finally got around to the wheels / suspension setup. I just purchased / installed style 32 wheels with the ...
