Re: Remove centre console panel

It’s not easy to get that panel out. You have to remove the whole console, like in the picture. But, you can easily replace the cig lighter unit without removing the panel. Just lift off the shift boot, and you can reach under and get behind the cig lighter unit and push it out. (That applies to th...

Re: Remove centre console panel

Sounds like you may well be right, when i started this 5yrs ago, it was definitely the neater solution to swap the whole unit. Our so I thought..... This is easier. https://www.amazon.com/LIHAN-Charger-Display-Voltage-Current/dp/B01M9IKYVH/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=cigar+lighter+usb&qid=168907112...

Re: Remove centre console panel

So whole console has to come out and then the plastic is screwed to that?
anchored wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 9:24 pm its held in with like 4 screws. Not too bad.

Removing the center console is bad though.

You can do it in about 30 minutes once you know where the screws are.

Remove centre console panel

Does anyone know if this plastic panel comes out separately and easily? If so, what's the best technique?
I'm just trying to secure a USB in place of the cig-lighter...

Re: Bilstein & H&R Parts - What is correct?

On my '86 635 (goldie): I am running B8s with BAV springs (very similar to the H&Rs) and very satisfied with the ride. On my '84 M635 (pumpkin): I am running B8s with H&R springs and also very satisfied with the ride. B8 rear shocks have a c-clip on the body where you can adjust the height ...

Re: Binding brakes/faulty master cylinder; mystery solved???

There's plenty of heat shielding products around, like here. https://www.heatshieldproducts.co.nz/header-armor.html ... See also the velcro tubing to wrap lines in situ. Great find jps635. Just looking at the site and the velcro tubing will definitely do the job. I am calling them first thing tomor...

Re: Bilstein B8 shock question (spring perch/groove)

also.... the stock bump stops have grooves in at the top; these are to allow any air trapped between the shock shaft and the bumpstop to escape as the shock compresses. If you trim the top of a standard bumpstop, it is important to recut these grooves else the bumpstop may burst. cheers Hi everyone...
