Re: FS: Getrag 260 5-speed from 1981 633

This is still available, and I am softening my position on shipping. May be willing to ship. Email me and say nice things. I'll pop it on a pallet and can fork it onto a truck. I cannot take it to a depot. It would have to be pick-up at our shop (residential). On your dime, of course, including coas...

FS: Getrag 260 5-speed from 1981 633

We have used this trans in our race car for about 6 races. Shifts perfectly. One of the shift mechanism bosses has been repaired (by us). Replacing the M30/260 combo with an M54. Otherwise, we would not hesitate to run this indefinitely. It had about 135k on trans before we started racing the car. W...

Re: Going low - E24 coilover options

I have posted here before about our E12-based E24 race car. We just got coil overs for it from Yellow Speed Racing. They are HQ'd in Taiwan but have an office in El Paso, TX. I thought the price for them was quite reasonable at $975US. The quality looks to be very good. We are still in the process o...

WTB: front suspension and subframe from E12-based E24...

We crashed our race car (lightly) and had to scramble for parts. Sure would be nice to have a spare everything up front. Anybody have something?

Our car is a 1981 633. Older style front suspension. Need the 52mm strut tubes.

Best to email me if you have something available: motobill at gmail

Re: Unwanted visitor

Keep the hood open and place some lights under in the engine bay and under the car. That will help keep the critters away.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

In the middle of all this received a text requesting some suspension parts off of our parts car. Evidently our friends at Buttonwillow had a little off-road Excursion. Wishing we were there of course, hoping there's video. Had the parts removed 5 minutes before the guys showed up so they could head...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Yes. Same car. Paint job is NOT a wrap. It's enamel paint the was rolled and sprayed. My team mate, Karl, has a plotter and cut all of the gold vinyl. The Buttonwillow race was good. One of the drivers put a wheel off at the exit of the bus stop, spun the car, and was collected by a Volvo. Took a hi...

Luke who? JK. We miss him. We are at Buttonwillow for a Lemons race this weekend. B/c of Covid it’s expensive to being people to the track. Next time.

I got a can of gold spray paint for that very reason. If only we had an ambitions 17-year-old to paint them...

Oh, and we did create our own JPS logo. It's probably not perfect, but we are happy to share it if anybody else wants it. I can send a file by email.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Well, we took a perfectly good E12-based E24 and made it into a 24 Hours of Lemons car last year. At Sonoma in December: https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Shark-Race-2019/i-V6r2tS9/0/a67b864f/L/IMG_0693-L.jpg Today, we did this: https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Shark-Race-2019/i-FT5BMdq/0/3b93e332/L/IM...

OK, so we got our car all set with our JPS livery. The Lemons people will love it. The purists will hate it. Can't please everybody.

Hi guys:

Sorry to take so long to get back you everybody about this LSD. We are going to hold onto it as a spare for now. Sorry for the false alarm. I will revive this post if we decide to sell it.

Thanks,

Re: Group C JPS tribute build.

Greetings, all: We run a 633CSi in 24 Hours of Lemons and are prepping a car for a race at Buttonwillow this month. We are thinking of doing the JPS livery. Does anybody have a vector file of the logo they would be willing to share? Hell, I'd even pay a few bucks for it. We have a plotter and a dxf ...

Re: FS: 3:65 Torsen LSD (rear-loader), $350, CA

Need a new diff to replace my 3.65 LSD medium case for '89 635CSi. Will this work without modification? Any condition problems? I think it'll work just fine. It's in good condition; no problems. However, you are second in line. Let me reply to the first guy and circle back with you... Thanks, Bill

We had those printed and distributed them at Lemons races. We have a two other: "Follow me to certain death," and "Safety Third."

FS: 3:65 Torsen LSD (rear-loader), $350, CA

Long story, but we got this to use in our race car. It helps a lot, but we have stiffened up the car enough that we now get some wheel spin, even with the Torsen. It'll work well on a softer sprung car. We get too much wheel lift with our stiffer anti-roll bar set-up. A clutch-type LSD won't fix the...

Re: A Shark conquers Sonoma...

Thought I'd add one more photo. This paints a better picture of the race. We averaged 2:25 lap times around Buttonwillow, but the races are won/lost in the stops. I am fueling the car, and Aaron is my fireman. BTW, we finished mid-pack in our second race with the car. But we are getting faster and l...

Well, we did it again. This time we ran the Lucky Dog endurance racing series at Buttonwillow. It was a 13 hour race over two days. The Shark ran like a champ. We are continuing to sort the car but having a blast driving it. The things that still need to be addressed before our next race in May: We ...

Love my Joengbloed wheels! https://i.imgur.com/opfBLV1.jpg These may not be the most fancy but all magnesium and very light. Very valuable, too. There is a set for sale on CL in Los Angeles right now for $1800. I would love to buy them for our Lucky Dog/Lemons car, but there are too valuable to put...

Re: A Shark conquers Sonoma...

Well, we are prepping for our second race at Buttonwillow on February 1 - 2. We have replaced the rear main seal and water pump. Both were leaking. Good thing we did. The clutch disc looked good, but the flywheel and pressure plate had deep grooves in them. So, flywheel has be resurfaced and a new c...

Re: What to do with 1983 BMW 745 Euro???

Well, we got the car running. It runs pretty smoothly. We were able to shift it into forward and reverse and it moves under its own power. It stops too. But we are not gonna push it with the brakes. To get it going, we replaced the two pumps with one high-flow, in-tank pump. Required a little modifi...

It's such a boat as a race car compared to half of the field being Miatas :-# and all you see is their roll cage when sitting all the way down (talking like maybe 2 inches before I sit all the way down). I drive standing pretty straight with the wheel fairly close too. Feels best for my 2 hours sti...
