Tampa Palms 33647 - independent shops familiar with vintage BMW’s

Kassel Dyno Results: Bimmerheads M30B34 Head on M30B35 Block

Jim at Kassel put the 1988 - 635csi on his Mustang Roller Dyno. He indicated that his dyno reads (18% less) than the HP at the crank. The old girl generated 207 HP at the wheels with 217 lbs of torque. Estimated 242 HP at the crank. Kassel’s tuning had a 20HP gain from the initial run of 187 HP when...

635csi Gauge Cluster - mfg 12/84 $150.00

635csi gauge cluster from 1984/1985. Note this is a little different from the clusters used in 1987,88 and 89. Has new white gage faces - painted needles and new odometer gears. This cluster should be bench tested - I bought it then realized it was different than my 1988 cluster. I do not know if it...

Cylinder Head Marked with “P”

I just took off the b35 cylinder head of my 88 635csi. I noticed a “P” stamped / stinceled on the side of the head. Any idea what that is or denotes. See photo. Thanks Rick

Recommendations on cleaning the inside of clear plastic gauge cluster

Has anyone attempted to clean the inside of the clear plastic lens of the gauge cluster? There appears to be a dusty film on the inside lens. Would like to know your thoughts.

Was planning on replacing some bulbs - so the gauge cluster is already out of the car.

Bimmerheads M30B34 Head on M30B35 Block

Shant at Bimmerheads just sent me some pics of a new B34 head that will go on my B35 motor. He recommend going with the B34 head because the combustion chamber is 7cc smaller than the B35. Hence, it will increase the CR to 9.8:1. Where as the stock B35 CR is 9:1. He used the larger B35 intake valves...

Re: WTB Stahl headers for 85 635csi

Contact / SuperSprint Directly - they build the headers in batches. They try and keep 1-2 sets in inventory. I placed my order though Turner when they are on Black Friday Sale. Then pay an additional $125 to have them air shipped via FedEx - you should have them in 2 weeks. That how I had my headers...

Found some additional information off the web - by Chris Graff B34 combustion chamber volume: 58 cubic centimeters B35 combustion chamber volume: 65 cubic centimeters B35 camshaft: 264 degree. Same as the B34 high compression (euro) engine. B35 inlet valve is 47mm instead of the B34's 46mm. Inlet po...

Combustion Chamber size B34 vs B35

Has anyone cc the combustion chamber of the B34 and B35 heads. Was talking with and well respected M30 engine builder about this, because I want to increase the compression ratio without going into the bottom end. The thought process is to use a late model euro head that has a smaller combustion cha...

Finally received my Aplina Momo -4 Spoke steering wheel - from Europe. Took forever. This steering wheel has two horn buttons - one on each of the upper spokes. Re: Getrag 260/6 selector rod Length ??

The correct length is 187mm center to center

Modified it to 197mm - tried to measure it form under the car using a big set of dividers

Bad idea !

Will cut it and take 10mm out of the OAL

Have no idea why UUC recommend a 147mm - maybe that is the correct size for the Getrag 265

Dinan Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake - Modified for M30B35

Was looking at ways to help this little M30B35 breath a little better. I ran across a guy selling a Dinan Carbon Fiber CAI - after looking at some pictures I believe it was from an e36. Had the right bends and a 3.5 inch dia. With a little modification, reducing the length by 4” and adding a silicon...
