Re: 1981 633 CSI Revival and Refresh
Interesting, I just gave a tach/dwell meter away =D> https://bigcoupe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=32705 Not sure why you would need a dwell meter however, your 81 shouldn't have breaker points :-? To be perfectly honest that was a huge part of my learning curve  Atleast I am able to fig...

Re: 1981 633 CSI Revival and Refresh
In addition to what I have above, I have other TLC photos. My hope with all of this is to prep my car for a rally to the Keys from Orlando. After that I will be doing a huge restoration project to the 6....rust repair that is. Forgive me as I am "young", but I picked up a tach and dwell me...

Yeah it was a real PITA but I removed the tamper proof screws. I honestly did not want to remove them but everything I have read to this point stated that they needed to be removed.

Re: e12 4pot vs e24 single vs aftermarket caliper
Hi Grapedude, I did the e32 rear brake swap on my e12 based 6ixer. It was a hell of an upgrade. The rear brakes really made the difference. I would say the original e12 front brakes and e32 rear brakes with good pads, is a supreme braking set up for the e12 based 6ixers. Once you complete the brake ...

E12 Based Chassis Ignition Switch Swap
Hey 6ixers! I recently have been trying to replace the ignition switch on my e12 based 6ixer and ran into a bit of trouble. In all of the manuals I read for the e28 and photos from online of e12 steering columns, they all suggest that the ignition switch can be removed from the bottom of t...

Re: 1981 633 CSI Revival and Refresh
Long time no update! Ive been long chasing these issues with my car since I put it all back together and attempted to first start it. I have a ton of updates and I have neglected to record everything on here as I feel that some of what I do could potentially help L-jet owners ](*,) Timing and settin...

Racing Dynamic RGP Wheels
The wheels are back forsale. I bought these with the intentions of fitting them to my Sixer. Turns out that the hub bore on these wheels will not work for an E12 based chassis. The wheels were refinished and they look amazing. Currently come with two center caps from when I originally bought them. T...

Re: 1981 633 CSI Revival and Refresh
Recently, I put everything back together and went for my first start. Took awhile to understand the shenanigans of finding the "Ball" in the open hole of the transmission bell housing. Truth be told, I know I still did not get the timing correct for this car. Does anyone have any good sugg...

Re: 1981 633 CSI Revival and Refresh
Hey Gang! Its been a long time since I gave an update. At the beginning of the year I started noticing a severe over-heating issue with the car. I tried every fix I could think of to remediate the heating issue. As time went on the over heating started occurring at idle and while driving. At that po...

Front Wheel Bearing Replacement
Hey guys! I was looking into doing the front wheel bearings on my E12 based shark. Would anyone know if the early model bearings and hub are able to swap with the late model hub and bearings? I did some quick looking around on real-oem but I wasnt satisfied with my results. Please let me know! Thank...

I live in Lancaster, which is ~2 hours away from Bethlehem, so not down the road but closer than Florida  Pennsylvania is a nice place to live, usually reasonable cost of living and depending where you are good employment opportunities. I won't lie to you and say the weather is always nice...

Re: E12 based car
Hello guys, i am driving a first GEN 633 CSI from 1977 - so it should be e12 based. The preowner installed Bilstein B6 shocks and H&R Springs from the e28. I am a little confused, that those springs work on my car because it should be e12 based. Is it possible that he also used some e28 shocks?...

Re: Engine oil temperature
I cannot speak for the our motors as I have not personally measured the oil temp yet, but for most chevy motors (LS variants) they run about 70*-80* hotter then the coolant temp in FL where in the summer we will get 35*c to about 39*c. However, I will say that for most of us here FL that drive our c...

I have one from the original 80' L-Jet engine and a few from 85-87 Motronic engines. Perfect! im interestin...

Re: 1981 633 CSI Revival and Refresh
Wow great work on this!! How bad is the rust on this one? It has moderate rust. Its weird because majority of the passenger side has practically no rust besides a small hole or two in the floorboard, but the driver side is pretty bad (all cosmetic now). A full walk around the car and you see small ...

I dont have e24s to scavage for trailing arms, and the only ones I found were 250usd each, which translates to about 400+ uppon arrival here in Brazil, with taxes and stuff, so its a way that i wouldnt like at all to go if possible. The dollar is 4.5x the local currency (and we make 0.5x the same a...
