Re: FS: EURO 1981 BMW 635CSi project in Oklahoma

Looks like I got it sold, and surprisingly to a guy who lives here in town. Thanks all!

FS: EURO 1981 BMW 635CSi project in Oklahoma

Selling a project car that's complete except front and rear bumpers. Engine turns over with the key (although the car does not come with a battery). The fuel lines were removed by the previous owner so it is not currently running. Very little rust. My ad on barnfinds.com mentions an asking price of ...

Quick Question: Are power sport and power comfort seat hinges the same?

I'm working on a 1985 635CSi with power sport seats that have completely shot hinges, but are otherwise functional. And I have the opportunity to pick up two power comfort seats locally from a 1987 635CSi for $25 each -- but the leather is completely shot (like not even enough left to make a pattern...

I haven't been able to track mine down yet. I may have sold them. If Ralph has a complete set, that is probably your best bet!

Re: WTB :: Black interior

I've got a few black parts, door panels and such. They came with my car (the previous owner intended to color change from blue to black, but I'm keeping the original blue). DM me if interested and I'll snap some photos.

Re: Rusty accelerator pedal mount

Thanks Don and rhanley. I definitely don't have the deflector, but I'll see if I can track one down. The leak will take some time to track down. This e24 is much less rusty than the previous 77 630CSi that I had. The floorboards were totally shot on that one. So far I haven't discovered too many sur...

Re: Rusty accelerator pedal mount

UPDATE: It looks like this is the right part to fix my issue. BMW apparently didn't offer it as a stand-alone part, so that's why I couldn't find any references to it in the parts diagram. I'll grind the old one down and weld in this new one when it gets here. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-Faceli...

Rusty accelerator pedal mount

I was cleaning the carpet in my shark today and knocked the accelerator pedal loose from its lower hinge. I pulled the carpet back and noticed the mount for the hinge is completely rusted. There wasn't a post about this that I could find -- has anybody else encountered this issue? If so, what's the ...

Re: sunroof wanted

If you all are still looking for an 87 sunroof panel I think I have one in my parts stash. It will need painted and it may have some light hail damage -- but it would be cheap! DM or email me for details and I'll see if I can find it.

FS: Black Carpet Kit for 79-84 e24 633CSi

This unopened black cutpile carpet kit from 1A Auto came with my car. I am going to keep my interior blue, so I don't need this carpet kit. The kit is $175 new, I'll take $100 plus shipping from Oklahoma City, OK 73107 (the box is 13 lbs) https://www.1aauto.com/1979-84-bmw-633csi-801-black-cutpile-m...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

I have been busy on my shark the last few weeks. I put on e39 wheels, new tires, fixed the sunroof (new cables and gates) and rebuilt the gauge binnacle (replaced odometer gears, replaced the SI board with a batteryless version, flocked the background so it wouldn't be brown anymore, repainted the b...

Re: Sunroof stuck in vent mode: Help!

It turns out there were multiple issues with my sunroof, and there are evidently 2 styles of sunroof cables. The parts car was the late type, but my car is the early one. I installed new cables and I think it's lined up close to right, but I found out it was missing the plastic gates. They're on ord...

Re: Glove Box Stuck

I've got the same problem. I haven't had a chance to tackle it yet, but i did take the glove box out of a pull-a-part car the other day to practice. Wish I'd taken some photos. If you pull back the carpet behind/beneath the glove box, there's two bolts that hold the hinge in place. The bolts go stra...

Re: Sunroof stuck in vent mode: Help!

UPDATE: I was able to carefully unclip the inner part of the lid and slide it out of the way. The rest should be easy. It looks like the entire plastic part is missing on one side. There's a pull-a-part place in town that happens to have a 635CSi. I went over there to practice on their car before I ...

Sunroof stuck in vent mode: Help!

I picked up a new project this week. It's a 1983 633CSI. I've got several things to get done before it's drivable, but the most pressing issue is the sunroof. It's stuck in vent mode. The motor works, and I've tried cranking it by hand to no avail. It will extend all the way up with the motor, but w...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

What did I do to my e24 today? I bought it! I previously had a 1977 630CSi that needed more body work than I could handle, so I sold it and quickly found this Great White Shark. It's a 1983 633CSi with a later 635CSi engine. It needs paint, a little interior work, a power steering pump and the A/C s...

Now $1500 OBO. Not getting any bites from my first post, so here are a few photos of the car from the gallery above. The interior is quite nice. This car runs well and has a lot of potential. It's currently listed on eBay since I wasn't getting much traction here. If you'd like to make an offer, let...

1977 630CSi 4-Speed Manual Project For Sale (Oklahoma City, OK, USA)

I bought this project car several months ago for restoration. It is a strong running and driving car. Unfortunately the floor pans have more rust than I can fix on my own, so I'm offering the car for sale as a project or parts car. If you have the ability to do some body work and replace the floor p...

Re: 1977 630CSi Basket Case <--- I need some assistance

I appreciate your quick replies bpoliakoff! Sadly their BMW electrical troubleshooting manuals start in 1982 on that site, but I think the 733i is close enough to work for some things. There weren't many 1977s imported to the US, and I think only about 1700 made total, so they're a little hard to fi...

1977 630CSi Basket Case <--- I need some assistance

So, I picked up a basket case 4-speed Shark the other day, and am diving into some of the electrical work. I have a nice color wiring diagram from Prospero's Garage (I have one for my Datsun Roadster and BMW R90/6 and love it) but some of the components on the car aren't listed on the diagram. Does ...
