Re: TRX Tires Not So Bad

I can confirm that a new set of 390 TRX are just under $1600 when you include shipping and install as of March 2019. When I bought the car it was 1000 miles away and needed new rubber for the drive home. It was quicker, easier and overall cheaper to get a new set of TRXs than to find a good set of r...

Adding Footwell lights

As we all know the interior lighting is lackluster in the 6. I was thinking of adding some courtesy/accent lights in the front footwells. I want to use these little LEDs, one on each side. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-wired-bolts/bolt-beam-12mm-led-light/1494/3433/ Ive already found ...

Re: Sunroof woes...

I am about to get into this project on my car and wondering about all the pieces. If i understand correct I need two pieces, the short one 990mm (54121870086) and the long one 1440mm (54121933203). But what about the single one 2370mm (54121972055)? is it actually too short? ECS Tuning lists them al...

Re: Proper Use for TRX tires

220/55vr390 is the size. they are now listed at $330 but when I bought them last MArch they were $298. so all in with shipping and install is was about $1600 or $400/tire installed. Its alot of $ yes, but changing rims would have added more money. Ultimately no its not the cheapest or the best perfo...

Wonderful! And i see you still have TRX rims and tires. I just put a new set of TRX tires on mine. dont listen to people telling you they are junk! they are a great tire although a bit pricey. Where in Maine? I used to live in Portland

mine do this too. Especially bad if you close the door with the window halfway down. Less bad if the window is all the way down and almost none if the window is all the way up

Re: Leather Dash Cover

I'd be interested in something like that. My original Dash is in great shape but has two small cracks just starting. I'd like to protect it with something to prevent those from growing. I wonder how good it looks. It could look great it could look janky.

Re: Proper Use for TRX tires

I just put a new set of them on my car that I got from Coker and they are a very nice Tire very comfortable and great grip. I wish people would actually keep these on the car cuz they make the car look right. I've done a couple shows with the car and everybody congratulating me on the look and keepi...

Looking for power window switches. Some of mine are twitchy. Also a trim piece from inside the trunk. It's the first piece you come to under the rear deck. Can take a picture later.
Thanks

Re: Speaker Pod Repair

The vinyl on mine looks good colorwise, except it is pulling off the metal and warping. Should I get new ones or try to glue the originals?

Cruise Control and OBC issues after Inst. Cluster repair

I had my Instrument cluster removed and sent out to have the batteries replaced and the odo gears fixed. After it went back in the car the cruise control and the fuel usage info on the OBC have stopped working. Specifically the range is frozen at 293, and the avg MPG, avg MPH were frozen, so i reset...

Going Euro lights up front, looking for advice

This is my shark, I just bought it a month ago. 1985 635csi Its my first E24. About 15 years ago I had an 91 750iL, but even then I wanted a shark becasue I thought it was just about the best looking car ever made. I have a fog light out and started researching and have come to the conclusion I have...

Re: LED head lights

Have not gone that route in my 6, but did it in several other vehicles. What I can say is be VERY skeptical of LED quality. especially stuff from china that you buy on EBAY. the light output is all over the map. Also getting the bulbs to fit can be hit or miss. often the led is too long to fit insid...

Re: Newbie saying hi

I like the look of TRX wheels, new rims and tires would have been more than what i paid for the michelins and after putting 2000 miles on the car the tires handle and ride very well. I've seen a few custom jobs where the TRX centers were used to make a 18" rim. That might be a direction i'd go, but ...

Newbie saying hi

Hi all. I just became the proud new owner of an 85 635csi. It's my second BMW, about 15 years ago I had in E32 750il. But even then I longed for an e24. Bought the car through bring a trailer and I'm picking it up in Nashville in a couple weeks and driving it back to Massachusetts after spending a w...
