Re: My Freshly Refurbished 1979 M90 Euro on BaT

The good news is that I am keeping my '86 Bronzit and will be my new fun project! So more to come on that. That's nice! Enjoyed your previous project and like to see another one coming! Thanks Paul, the '86 Bronzit is a US Spec car that I am converting to Euro bumpers and turbocharging, it will be ...

Good luck Yasin, sorry to see your great looking shark go. Thank-you kindly Paul, it will be sad to see it go (if it hits reserve), especially after all the work and money spent. The good news is that I am keeping my '86 Bronzit and will be my new fun project! So more to come on that. My best, Yasin

My Freshly Refurbished 1979 M90 Euro on BaT

Hi Friends - After much consideration I have decided to sell my freshly refurbished '79 Euro M90, it is now live on Bring A Trailer. I have over $25k in receipts and the car is really lovely and drives perfectly. Everything has been gone through from new mechanicals, all new suspension, brakes and c...

Re: I'll Be Busy For a While - 1979 Euro 635CSi (M90 Powered)

I picked a few additional newer items to replace some word pieces on my car: 1) Left and right lower seat trim that cover the hinges 2) Newer condition tail lights - left and right 3) Front headlight covers that fit in the engine bay 4) Ignition switch cover 5) I made a new battery mount 6) Replaced...

Re: I'll Be Busy For a While - 1979 Euro 635CSi (M90 Powered)

No more ripped shift boot and cracked, delaminated steering wheel. Making the interior neat with color, wood and new leather. It cost $425 for the steering wheel alone, but it wasn't just a simple recover and hand stitch. The original or OEM wrap had delaminated from the steel rim and was "squishy" ...

Haha...nice sarcasm!

The car lived in Arizona for many years and then Texas, so it has really helped preserve it.

Re: I'll Be Busy For a While - 1979 Euro 635CSi (M90 Powered)

Thank-you kindly Paul and olympia57 I appreciate it, lots of time has gone into the car but very pleased with the outcome. Yesterday, I replaced the fuel line from the tank to the pump and then spent the entire day scrubbing and cleaning the chassis (my back by 9pm was saying "Ok enough!!!"). All th...

Re: I'll Be Busy For a While - 1979 Euro 635CSi (M90 Powered)

Well I spent a little over $500 (that cost is for the stripes themselves and the labor to install) for a set of the OEM vinyl stripes in silver (bought from Burt - thank you!). Really does a great job of contrasting the paint and flows with the car. I was a little anxious about installing them, but ...

Thank-you kindly! Much appreciated. In the same breath, positive feedback for Ken on his prompt communication, payment and also being very understanding on the shipping (due to the oversized box).

My best,

Re: I'll Be Busy For a While - 1979 Euro 635CSi (M90 Powered)

]For whatever odd reason, my car was missing the right side door hinge inner metal panel - I figure this is a decorative cover and also a protection plate or guide for the power window harness. So for fun, I made one today as well. I started off with a piece of paper as a template, then onto cardboa...

I also cleaned the trunk as it was quite dirty, I also repaired the inner cardboard trunk panel (with fiberglass) that fits behind the rear seats and fitted the missing tools and a new BMW blue cloth.

Today I turned my attention to the trunk panels and repairing the frail and brittle plastic trim. I reinforced these panels with fiberglass and patched any holes.

Very nice. I never realized there were roundels on the on early C pillars like a 3.0. Thank-you!! There was a discussion on the Facebook E24 Group, some members / owners were thinking a percentage of early cars got the E9 Roundel treatment others were thinking it was an add-on by a previous owner. ...
