Re: 86 635 bits including tail light chrome, ecu etc
The part numbers can be seen in the pictures. The pliers are not slip joint I know that. I am interested in the 2 tools. Which pliers are they? If the slip joint pliers, are they the 7" long ones as used in the E30 tool kits or the 9" ones that are proper for our tool kits OR are they the ...

Re: 86 635 on BaT
Rather more than I was expecting as well, though I think it fair to say one of the better overall non Ms I have seen in a while.
If the buyer does not want them I'll have a set of King Coupe staggered Alpina Reps with nice tires as well as a small smattering of some new and used trim bits.

Re: Brake pedal randomly goes to the floor
The pedal moving through it's range but not producing braking power. Isn't this exactly what the pedal going to the floor is? I'm firmly in the MC camp. If not changed yet, bring along a gallon container of water for future rides. If it happens again pour the water on the MC to cool it off and see i...

Someone's got to ask, if the "mini Flocker, flock it kit" just covers the dash gauges, how much is a "Mother Flocker flock it kit" to cover the whole dash?!

Re: WTB pass side outer seat hinge cover
I may have been wrong. I assumed the one pictured is an inner given its' molded in space for a seat belt anchor but it seems to work fine. I can maybe get PNs tomorrow. That said IIRC they were not listed in a traditional BMW # last I looked. Mike https://i.imgur.com/08N6PbDm.jpg https://i.imgur.com...

WTB pass side outer seat hinge cover
Don't know if they are specific but for sport seats. Pacific blue would be perfect, but can take any solid color and dye later.

Pretty sure you're setting a new definition of "scratch". I've never seen a scratch cast a shadow! That said it is hard to tell if the corresponding area on the seal is concave or convex. It sure seems like it is concave which would argue it having housed a pin or grub screw as was previou...

I like the new Continentals for a mix of period looks and modern utility. If you don't want a CD the are under $175.

I may have gotten ahead of myself. If I searched correctly some years may have one, and some may not, as least on the pump. Here is what it might look like. https://images.app.goo.gl/U8TUhiYxLJkoZQd29 Basically mounted on top of the outlet side of the pump, between the pump body and the banjo fitting.

Re: Another Heater Core question
Thanks for the info. I will be picking away at it over weekends. How did you know yours was leaking? While I have interior coolant smell, I have not noticed leaking yet, though maybe it is all caught up in the duct work. I'd hate to keep going only to find out it was not leaking. Not to mention havi...

Re: I'll take left over parts for $500 Alex
Thanks for all the hints. They were the hold down bolts for the fuel rail to the block. The fuel hoses and electrical wires did such a good job of holding the rail near the intake that I had missed not reinserting these bolts.

Yes, scary indeed as I can't make out where the core is or was and I am only here! https://i.imgur.com/Umj7kwim.jpg I should have added my patient is an 86, LHD. Still can't believe they make you drop/open the A/C. I have no idea what folks did before cell phones could capture pix of the tear down. ...

Another Heater Core question
I have searched and found a few how tos on the site, but I have as yet to find a good set up pictures of the heater core in situ. I have dropped my lower dash across the car and really can't even see all the fasteners needed to drop the heater box. One set of instructions said you have to crack open...

The pictures aren't particularly clear or up close. The hanging down connector looks like a remote cable for a CD changer or similar.

Re: Stranger starting issue once warmed up, please help?
My first guess would have been fuel pump pressure check valve. When warm/bad they can allow pressure to bleed down rapidly and make starting hard. An open throttle will help when warm. When cold the engine is aided by the cold start injectors etc so starting is easier.

Re: I'll take left over parts for $500 Alex
Thanks. I actually found a picture of the cable in that hanger on the dipstick tube. I found given the slightly different clocking of the solenoid on my later model starter required a slight rerun of the cable and it no longer really fits close to where this hanger would retain it, so out it stays. ...
