Re: Heater blower transistor failure mystery...

I thought about the variable resistor, but the AC fan works perfectly across all speeds.

Re: Heater Control Valve - ($16 fix)

As far as I can tell it should not matter what direction it's facing. I only mounted it that way so I could use the original mount.

Heater Control Valve - ($16 fix)

So as we all know the heater control valve for these cars is absolute garbage and the replacements and rebuild kits are way worse. There was some talk on the e28 group about using the e46 one so I gave it a shot but did it the cheap way! --- Shopping Went to a Pull a Part junk yard and bought the fo...

Re: Heater blower transistor failure mystery...

I have 2 extra AC switches laying around, but they are from the e28 and seem to have one less pin. I will give tightening the connections a shot.

Re: Heater blower transistor failure mystery...

I have gone ahead an ordered a 2n5302, mainly because it was cheap. Will be holding off on ordering the motor. Based on the electronic trouble shooting guide, the only things behind this in the circuit are the transistor and variable resistor for the fan speed controller. both of those would be stra...

Re: Passenger Door Lock Cam Repair - PART

Could do FDM printing and use TPU for the door wiring harness boot

Also hello fellow Atlanta 6 owner that had to 3d model a door lock part. Extremely small world.

Re: Heater blower transistor failure mystery...

Also found people using these from some googling.
2n3772 20a 60v

2n5302 30a 60v ~200w This seems like the way I am going to go next.

2n5303 20a 80v
I have yet to replace my motor, but that's my next plan along with the new transistor.

Re: Heater blower transistor failure mystery...

I am having the exact same problem. I started with the same transistor and moved to the 2n3771 and blew two of them. the seem to blow right around the time I move past 2/3 just like northNH. According to my multimeter its definitely the transistor that is going out. I have checked the relay and put ...

A counter point for arguments sake.

this would significantly reduce the new signups which could slow how many new posts happen.

Though most of my skills are in UI/UX, I have a team of Devs I can utilize if I need help. I am willing to take it on if someone more qualified does not come around.

Re: Group interest - rear light frame seals

Offering my services to 3d model these. the left and right should be a mirror image of each other so if I can get my hands on one in good shape I should be able to create models of both.

Based on those models we can crate molds to begin recreating them.

The metal parts are for earlier models.

The plastic bits you have are for a car with central locking.

I will buy them if you are not using them.

I know they are in stock at the dealer but that seems like a crazy thing to pay 200 dollars for!

let me know if anyone has a source for one?

Re: Kidney Grill Gasket?

Yeah. the grills are sold with a rubber gasket behind them.

Obviously not for preventing water but I assume vibration. mine are too loose now and it will damage the paint if I do not address it soon.
