Re: SRS Module Help

I just did the same maneuver which also worked, except I only disconnected the orange connectors on the left and right fender sides. The ancient plastic of the orange connectors were crumbling in my hands, so if you do it, make sure you have some electrical tape handy to hold them together after you...

Re: Memory Seat Controller Bypass?

Does anyone know if it's possible to "downgrade" the seat controller from the memory unit to a non-memory unit?

Re: Memory Seat Controller Bypass?

OK, the saga continues. I have been unable to get my Memory Seat Controller module board repaired. But in all honesty, I don't really care about memory positions, just that everything works. I have seen a schematic like this: 00007569.jpg And here's a photo of the part labelled as number 6 in the sc...

Re: Conforti chip...thumbs up

Does anyone know how the Conforti chip compares to the Dinan chip I'd have in my '88 M6?

Re: Memory Seat Controller Bypass?

I guess there's nothing to stop someone from pushing forever and burning out the motor. As it turns out, I've found a local electronics repair shop where the guy has actually worked on these boards. It's usually a bad solder joint, cap, or relay. I've managed to find a donor board on Ebay for $40 wh...

Memory Seat Controller Bypass?

According to my mechanic, my E24 '88 M6 has a faulty driver's memory seat control module (BMW PN 61311371916). My problem is that the seat can go in all directions except backwards. The problem is intermittent but has gotten worse and worse. First I swapped the switch from the passenger side with no...

Re: M6 E24 Engine cuts suddenly

Per your suggestion, both main relay and FPR were changed. Don’t know which did the trick. Problem solved, though. Thanks!

M6 E24 Engine cuts suddenly

Hello. It's my first post with BC. I've got an '88 M6 (with Dinan ECU chip) (120K; had it since 85K) and I've got an odd problem: The car will just stall and then can be restarted instantly without further incident. The idle is steady at 800 and the car pulls well and accelerates correctly. But twic...
