I didn't think long and decided to restore the original wheels RS007 to the original look. That means black bolts and a BMW badge in the middle.
The wish for the car is to have everything as it came from the factory including the radio and sound system.
Thanks for the instructions @soperman!

Re: Gong
That's great news Bob, thank you for that. I'll leave everything as it is.
Maybe it's the difference between Euro and US, who knows... I had an 85' US a year ago and there was always a "gong" when the dashboard warning "CHECK".

Gong
Hello everybody On my '85 E24 the "gong" doesn't make a sound. I checked the three wires that are connected to the gong. The voltage is only on the red wire and it is constant when the key is in position 0, in the end position or when the engine is running. The gong should work when the or...

Re: Another problem with central locking
Today I spent the whole day assembling the car. The doors are still disassembled so I checked everything. I manually turned on and off the red central locking switch at the bottom of the door, checked all the switches, adjusted the door and the mechanism, lubricated... Finally, I check and the centr...

But if the main central locking control was broken then the central locking on the left wouldn't work either or am I wrong?

Re: Mystery Speaker Pods?
Hello. I searched and read different pages on the forum and could not find an answer to my question. So I'll just ask here. I am currently restoring my E24 and I would like to do it as original as possible. Until recently I was convinced that the front cover speakers at the feet were of only one typ...

Re: Are these original wheels?
Thank you very much
Were the original bolts chrome or black like on my rims? Somewhere I see black, somewhere chrome. What about the badge in the middle, BBS or BMW? Probably a BMW? I want to restore them as they were originally on the new car.

Re: Are these original wheels?
The only 3 piece split rim BBS RS wheels fitted to a 6 series in the U.K. were the metric sized (415mm diameter) 007 variant. Only the M635CSi had them fitted as standard, and only for the first 9 months (approximately) of production, when they were recalled in, scrapped, and replaced with a single...

Re: Chrome Mirrors
My M635CSi has exterior mirrors in car color. I want to repaint them. I've read half the forum and I haven't read anywhere that the colored cover can separate from the black part around the mirror. Can someone help me how to repaint the mirrors? Paint without tearing?

Re: Another problem with central locking
Thanks TimU. I was at the car today and a little research. I saw that there is no such switch on the left / driver's side. I was surprised. Am I right that someone removed it for some unknown reason and that's why the central locking doesn't work as it should? I was looking for BMW ETK. The part num...

Another problem with central locking
Hello. I searched a lot of the forum but couldn't find such a problem. The car is a 1985 European model. Driver's side central locking everything works properly, unlocking/locking both doors and trunk. The problem is on the passenger door. Only locking all doors works, but not unlocking. The key tur...

Re: What do you think the best looking rims are for the shark?
I don't own this car, but I'm interested in it. I checked it by VIN code where it is item 291 with this description. It came with these wheels from the factory. Now it has wheels in attachment.

Hi,
I'll just ask here so I don't open a new topic.
I search the forum and can't find it. Please, someone tell me what kind of wheels are under the code 291 lt/aly Wheels/cross spoke/2-prt.

Re: rear spoiler adhesive - single piece "ducktail"
I apologize for not answering your question. But I would like to find out something with exactly such a soiler. Is it originally just glued or is it also attached with some screws? If it is attached with screws, I would like to know where exactly they are.
