Re: M30 overhaul or swap

I would rebuild instead of swapping. Fresh engine compared to a similar one with same HP and condition you already have Good engine builders usually don't R&R the engine. You could find a shop to pull the engine, have a builder to his thing and have the shop install. I would not have a general ...

M30 overhaul or swap

Hello, I’ve got about 187,000 miles on the M30, couple of oil leaks and a mild overheating issue when idling. At this point I was hoping some of you fine gentlemen can give me guidance as far as what the better (most cost effective) choice would be. Rebuilding and overhauling my current M30 or perha...

Re: E24 Shifter Rebuild Questions

Make sure you are looking at the right drawings. The date says "from 09/1985" but you have found that yourself as well I see. You best enter your VIN in the BMW parts website (currently offline for maintenance). https://shop.bmw-classic.de/waroot/cl_maintenance/index.html Why not take it ...

Re: Clutch time + ??

Might be a good time to do the guibo/giubo/flexdisc and the transmission mounts if the rubber is showing any signs of coming apart. There are several parts in the shift linkage, and the more of them that you replace the better it gets. See this page: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=52...
