Re: Mwrench Steering Fix
Bummer. It would be a real shame to lose this to the winds of time - I'm sure there was not a ton of demand, but there are still a lot of these cars out there and as I learned today even enthusiast owners who don't realize what they are dealing with when encountering this issue.

Re: Mwrench Steering Fix
Any updates on this? Just connected with a new 6er owner and pointed him to Ed’s site only to realize he’d stopped doing them (feeling very thankful I got mine when I did.)

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Got it! Pulled and ready to go. Sheath and cable are good shape, no binding or fraying. Bellows is shot as they mostly all are, but can be swapped from a regular throttle cable which are still available. $45 shipped, you can PM me for payment options if you are interested.
Thanks!
Rob
Thanks!

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
The car was stored for the winter so no further harvesting could be done, but it is accessible again so PM with any parts requests!
Fuel tank is still available, about to go up on ebay but figured I would give it one last go here first.

More pics of specific parts that have had requests:
Tank - overall looks good. No rust around seam (or anywhere else save a little surface rust on head shields and near dent in bottom):

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Updates - cluster is sold, thanks Chuck! I owe some pics to a couple of you of the steering wheel and since I haven't figured out how to send them in PM, here ya go. Coarse spline M-Tech I, all horn buttons work, M badge present but worn, leather was thrashed so I removed it, all foam in excellent s...

Hey gang, apologies for the delayed responses, just got back from some unanticipated travel. All PMs responded to. Seats - they were aftermarket and not of good quality, definitely not worth the cost to ship them. Sunroof - good condition, zero rust. Inner fender - looks clean and dry from what I ca...

Re: Can’t stop driving around. Its addictive.
It really is. My e30 is in much nicer shape, has working air conditioning and a manual, but I still take my "work in progress" sixer out twice as often as the 3.

Cautionary tale - DO NOT try to clean the accumulated schmutz inside a cabin temp sensor with CRC Lectra-Clean electronics cleaner - it completely dissolves the styrofoam insulator that separates the element from the housing. Kronus, my apologies, ist kaput. My intentions were good. Also, no joy on ...

Temp sensor I have pulled and set aside for you - regarding mounting panel, do you have a pic? I think it was just stuffed behind the kick panel when I dropped it but if I saw the part I might be able to track it down.

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Cluster is in very good shape - bezel and lens are uncracked, car does not run so can only verify everything lights up as it should, and the fact that it will absolutely need odometer gears. I'm okay shipping both domestically and internationally. Open to offers.

Grilles are...serviceable. Both have light dents and pitting - I have had good luck straightening/polishing aluminum trim, so I think they are imminently savable, but not great as is. Apologies for the grungy photos, happy to pull them and clean them up if you are interested.

Updates: Re: air dam - it does actually have one, but it is the pre-'85 "high nose" dam that tucks up under the bumper, not the original cow catcher. Guessing that's not what you were looking for but if so, lemme know. Powered car and not getting response from the fan, but will need to tes...

BCMac - No air dam, unfortunately.
Ross - The car does power up so I will hook it up and check function on the fan speed control. Engine does not run so won't be able to test full function on the HVAC but will figure out as much as I can and advise.

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
It is salvageable, but not by me. It has some pretty serious previous owner disease so would need a lot of love to set right again. I seriously thought about saving it but don't have the time/space, and my '87 is just a better car despite having some rust. If you are really interested I would consid...

Parting 1985 635csi
Purchased this Cirrusblau/Pacific 5 speed car last year as a manual trans donor for my '87. Fuel line failure led to a small underhood fire taking it off the road. It's a very complete car and outside of the swap parts and the driver-side fender I don't have a ton of use for it. PM me for anything y...

Re: Gauge Cluster Finish
Very late reply but posting in case other searchers come across this thread. After seeing this same issue on numerous clusters both in ebay listings and in my own car (a very original 7/86 635csi) I think it is a common failure mode for the factory-applied matte finish. I found the same "mold&q...
