A real blast from the past. I had a set on my 77 320i. The original horn would beep for a second or so before the airhorns came on.

Re: radio power wire damage
I would trace the KL15 back to the ignition switch or connection point and use an ohm meter to check continuity. If it is an open circuit then teh wire is bad and you could run a new one. I assume you've checked fuse 21 and 12?

I finally found a 15" BBS for my spare so I have 2 bottlecaps for sale, no centercaps. The original one from my 85, including what appears to be the original TRX tire, and a 14" non-TRX. I have no idea what they are worth, and shipping is likely to be expensive, but thought I'd offer befor...

Re: Heater Blower Transistor
I am not an EE, but IIRC the 2N3771 has a higher heat dissipation capacity so in theory be more durable. Maybe someone did a swap way back when? If the 2N3771 worked before I'd stick with that. If it worked before you cleaned it and now doesn't I'd check connections first.

Re: dash cluster connector
I don’t but if you can’t find one you might be able to adapt a standard connector. It might not have the lock but may work.
Here’s the type connector that may work:

Re: Impact wrench from Aldi UK
I would be very careful with those cheap tools from China. A few years ago I was very lucky that I did not go blind. A cheap Chinese random orbital sander, also from Lidl or Aldi has exploded at full speed. The rotor disc has collapsed and the metal parts have been catapulted through the plastic ho...

You've misstated lease costs since the beginning and without justification I used the existing lease rates to point out Biden has not raised them, though I did only give the less than 200 feet number since I focused on land lease rates and your incorrect claim that Biden raised leases 43% to 18.5. ...

LMAO, amazing what someone can overlook when they want to but at least you have a starting point to learn from. Now go see what the cca ads to the cost of crude, how its helped limit refinery capacity expansion to far less than the increase in demand then maybe get back to your statement on oil pro...

Sorry for resurrecting a bit of an old thread. Can anyone comment on what the gold stuff might be, that's applied to components of the Transistor and board surface please? It's a hard, gold varnish of some sort. Could it be a waterproof coating of some sort to keep moisture away from the components...

Also found out blower speed is working only on max. 1st step is to replace transistor under the hood next to windshield as it is fairly easy to reach. Looks rusty. Any advice on how to cleanly desolder the transistor from its support? Thanks There's a how too on the replacement. When I did mine (A/...

ou know all I've done is show that for each cost reduction you claim, there's a corresponding increase in costs. If your objectively looking at everything behind the spike in gas costs, that shouldn't be a problem. Except I have never claimed a cost reduction, just that your claims are wrong and yo...

Re: President Donald J Trump makes history...
LOL, just because your original numbers don't substantiate your claim, doesn't mean you get to change them and don't forget that domestic offshore leases are at 18.5%. So even using the lower number of 12.5%, taxes and regs are responsible for over 40% of what you pay for gas at the pump. CYA Once ...

haha, it's a shared garage, so it holds the collected detritus of ~ 15 people. The E28 is one of the most winning 24 Hours of Lemons cars of all time, the Vanagon is Subaru swapped and has syncro bits on the way, and the bel air looking thing is a 1952 Willys Aero-Lark that we've swapped an E34 fro...

I never said regulation stopped with crude. Like you say it also adds cost at the refineries and in distribution. By the time gas get to your tank, regulation and tax have added to the plus side of 40% to the cost of what goes in your tank. Think about it, using your numbers, add 12.5% for leases p...
