Re: Manual Sport Seats-e28 cars

You're welcome, but you do know that if you install E28 front seats, you won't be able to access the rear seats :-k

Not that anybody sits back there #-o

Re: Manual Sport Seats

Billy, not sure what year you are looking for, but for the early E12 chassis, you might want to try Aardvarc Racing, Dave Varco restores and sells the very nice E21 factory Recaro's =D> I picked up a set of these quite some time ago, and while I'll admit that they were a bit pricy, I have never regr...

Re: Tell us what type of motor oil you prefer?

I've been using both Castrol GTX and Pennzoil over the years, 20W50, of course, the M30's really need this weight of oil, specifically in warmer climates, running 10W40 weight in colder climates would be best, I used to do that as well, back in my "NJ" days  Fritz, if you're only putting 5 qua...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

So, while I was having some fab work done, I decided to use this new (to me) "resource" to make a sheetmetal panel for the front license plate filler panel, one that I could bolt on, and thus remove as well, if/when the "men in blue" stop me again :-({|= The pix show how he made this panel, with stu...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Got my battery tray restored  This "project" has been a long time coming, the battery has been long since been relocated to the boot (trunk, for you Yanks #-o ) and it ain't goin' back under the bonnet [-X So, the color doesn't quite match, but that's a project for another day, although I did...

I looked at Ed's .PDF (attached), but he claims that the old one just pulls out :-? http://www.mwrench.com/download/sunshadefix.pdf Maybe try different diameter drill bits to see if you can extract what's left :-k Or, get an easy out kit and use the smallest bit, I can't see why this would be so muc...

Re: 81 E12 Based 633Csi Exhaust

Wow, that is restrictive, always wondered what the stock exhaust looked like :-k With only one downpipe, what do you have for an exhaust manifold :-? You probably won't find a "new" replacement downpipe, although it appears that the center resonator and rear muffler are still available out there, fr...

Song, that air dam is from an '85 US 635, the M6 version, which was not an available model till '87, would have horizontal openings in the center for oil cooler access :-k First is my long awaited Air Dam! This is from a 1985 M6 I believe Nice find though  Ralph to the rescue, yet again =D>

Re: 1981 BMW 635 (E12 based) lowering suspension advice

I wonder how Bert knows this, since he has yet to drive his 6er #-o The factory vented rotors are more than adequate. That being said julianonline, the optimum would in fact be whatever lowering springs you can find, and Bilstein Sport struts =D> As duly noted, the Sports for E12 chassis are scarcer...

Sunday, July 22nd in the car show in Saratoga CA, white 89 with the license plate "R89SHRK", owner is John Motroni from SF :-k

Any chance you're on the board :-?

Hung around for a bit to see if the owner showed up, didn't happen #-o

Hmm, well, that does sound weird :-k

Pretty sure you have the correct ratios, however =D>

US M6 = 3.91
Euro M635 = 3.73

My advise would be to get her up so that you can turn the prop shaft and count the wheel revolutions \:D/

ldc, I would think that you are going to foul the struts up front with 245's [-X

No problems out back, however, where you can install steamrollers without issues =D>

Presuming these wheels are 8" wide with ET20 offset, the correct tire size would be 235/45's [-o<
