Re: LSD oil drain position

Many thanks for reassurance on this Jose. No tab on this diff, Ralph - bearings are identical on non-oil drain open diff too.

Thanks again both,

LSD oil drain position

lsd drain hole.jpg I am sticking the LSD parts that came from the M635 diff with no case into the open diff in my project 635. Can anyone confirm that the oil drains(if that's what they are) in the flanges should be positioned at the bottom of the diff case? The open diff, on the left, doesn't have...

Not sure it should have the double - none of the sixers that I've owned have that arrangement.

Immaturity kicking in here: I'm sure a drive by would elicit a response, but it seems a bit extreme! [as in drive-by shooting, sorry]

brake pipe retaining screws

I'm hoping this will be one of those questions that leaves me feeling stupid for asking, but reassured nonetheless! I've removed all of the little Phillips head screws that hold the brake and fuel pipes retainers in place, but as you might imagine, they are not in a state that I'd like to re-use. Th...

Bilstein rear spring perch M635/S1 E24

I got a bit ripped off on a deal for the rear strut assembly for an M635 whereby I ended up with only one of the pair! I have springs ready to go and a decent pair of Bilsteins with new bumpstops etc. As you'll know, the rear springs are a larger diameter for the M - I believe it's the same as the S...

Passenger door, S2 car, UK

Chap in UK restoring a six, needs passenger door.

I have a spare, but I'm not going to be able to strip it any time soon, plus he wants it shipped to WA16 which is a big pain.

Has anyone got a spare a bit nearer to him?

Cheers,

Re: M635CSI not starting

You need to remove the kick panel under the steering wheel: four Philips screws. Relays will be right in front of you, attached to ecu bracket. My opinion is that they should be changed as a matter of course. Not expensive from dealer. The motronic document referred to above is superb, most of it ap...

Re: Lemforder Upper Control Arm Bushing wrong size?

The one you removed looks like the reinforced version from the E32, which needed to be ground to size. Is it possible the larger bush was forced into place?
