Re: A Pair Of 6ers In Canberra

I like that brown car. The owner is a top bloke. The owner of the other car though, he has some expletive tattooed on his forehead.

I echo Paul's comments. Shame about the lout in the Superlite who blocked us in. Nice colour though. I followed Stu back to Mona Vale and pulled up along side him at the lights. These guys on motorbikes had been ogling his car and I heard one ask the other "do you think it's real or a replica?&...

I have to ask though - what's the picnic blanket for? Do you plan on some cheese and wine should you have an off mid-race?

There are some brilliant roads around Sydney and they're generally not overly policed but there's almost always traffic, so it was great to get out on the ACT roads today with bugger all traffic and see bits of the ACT I haven't seen in years. And with everything so close too.

My dim dash lights

So, some background... For years, I've had a bit of a gremlin with my car not charging properly. My mechanic would had the alternator to his auto electrician, who'd rebuild it, it would get re-fitted, and I'd find it wouldn't put out the right voltage. I don't drive the car so much now as I have a c...

This should give you an idea what George Michael's breath smells like http://gawker.com/5052776/george-michael-arrested-in-yet-another-public-toilet That's disappointing Paul because if you're objective, it's been a good car for you over the years. But I do get that you've outgrown it and it doesn't...

Oops, I forgot about this one. I was hesitant to commit because I've had work functions the last two Friday nights and couldn't be sure what state I'd be in come Saturday morning. Seems the alcohol did it's job and killed my braincells. I didn't remember until around 11am. Hopefully we'll get some d...

Me too. My home computers and iPhone (over wifi) can't access the site (server not found error), but works ok over Telstra 3G. Seems to indicate an issue with my ISP - iiNet.

Dave I just had a look at your proposed route. I'm not sure if you saw Paul's earlier post but we're actually planning on doing a loop through Broke etc prior to lunch. I'm not sure there'll be much interest in doing it again.

Above where you have your destinations there's a button that looks like a chain (you'll see 'get directions', 'my places', and a printer); click on it and you'll see options for the URL of the route.

Who's coming in your group of cars? It'll be good to see some extra 6ers if that's the plan.

So they did make a mirror block off plate for the left side? Any chance you have a photo showing it? Or even better, a spare one I could buy? I've been searching all over and it's very very NLA from the dealer! Would a blank plate for the LHS be any use to you in the US? and no I couldn't find a ph...

That's very much like Serco's car right down to the seatbelts and bonnet hinges, so I don't think it's a special model as such, more likely just a very early one.

I also meant to ask: did you look at the service records to confirm it was Australian delivered? That's the first 87 car I've seen here and I wasn't aware that BMW imported 6ers that year. From memory they brought them in around 77/78, 81, 86 and 88.

Interesting that you compare Europe to US by the lack of super sized beverages! Val: I would look to stay in pensions. If you google "pension Munich" you'll find lots. I have stayed a couple of times at one about 2km from the city centre. Very basic in that it had shared bathrooms but brea...

It is indeed a good idea! I'd do it clockwise because every other time I've been through Paynes Crossing has been from north to south.
