Re: How often do you REALLY flush your brakes?

I do it every couple years. I don't know that it needs it, I only drive the coupe about 2 to 3000 miles a year any more. When I get it ready for spring, I change the oil and filter, check the lubes and have a power bleeder so its really not that big a deal when I have it up on stands.

Re: Bringing The Shark Home

What a great trip. What route are you taking home? I've thought about a long road trip in the coupe but I think my backside is getting to old for the "comfort" seats, let us know how you guys do.

Enjoy the ride.

Re: Thinking of Boston to Montreal round trip this summer in my 89, good idea?

It looks like from about 300 to 450 miles depending on the route, start, and end point. Wow that would would be a great drive. If your coupe is maintained "have it checked over if you haven't yet" it should do fine. I wouldn't worry about taking my 89 on a run like that, the only thing to ...

Re: Rear Sunshade manufacturer

Hi Super Coop, Unfortunately the sun shades are no longer available through BMW and you cannot purchase them new anymore :( However I did try calling the Maximillian folks and nothing available but they said they'd try to keep an eye out for some. Thanks Sorry to hear that, maybe a good used one? I...

Hey Dennis, welcome to the madness. If your in "retired" state, sounds like we may be the same era lol,,, beautiful models but be careful taking them apart, not because its bad, I found as I get older it takes so much longer to put them back together :P :P :P

Have fun with them.

With today's high quality printing, maybe someone should create new stickers to put on the old painted buttons that is wearing off of so many power seat controls. Anyone done that? Good idea, I'd be in for my other switches, they all wore off over time. I have never seen stick on lables for any swi...

Sharkfan; Thanks for the info, now I need to locate the inlet manifold. The vacuum hose is only about 12" to 14" long. I hope that's right. When I dropped the panel it didn't seem like the vacuum line was attached to anything. The car has been converted to R134, but doesn't seem to blow r...

So I'm working with an M-Tech and airbag wheel that I want to get rid of. I've read up on the airbag removal... have disconnected the relevant plugs, but I don't see how to remove the unit. The four holes in the back don't seem to have screws in them... I still need to get a little mirror so I can ...
