Re: Fuel pump relay

Check for a voltage drop (when cranking) across the relay terminals on the main relay (30 and 87). If a voltage drop of more than 1v is registered, there could be high resistance on the main relay contacts.

Re: 633CSi Turbo - Not a Callaway Anymore

Thanks ! Am I reading those correctly ? There appears no VE % readings above 86 ? I would have thought you would be setting above 100 for forced induction ?

Re: 633CSi Turbo - Not a Callaway Anymore

Sure I'd love to see that. I'm interested in VE for boosted applications. I'd have thought VE would be the cornerstone for your tuning ?

Re: 633CSi Turbo - Not a Callaway Anymore

Nice work ! It is addictive stuff this tuning caper. The main advantage of charge cooling is not so much in outright power improvement per se. It is in the ability to enable a higher tune state (avoiding detonation) due to reduced charge air temperature. To reduce intake turbulence, you could have e...

Re: Mystery speedometer mod

There is a fuse (0.1a) which, when it blows at 30,000 miles, closes a switch to bring on the O2 sensor light on the active check panel. That fuse that has been added to yours is however a 3a. If you have an instrument specialist around, best to take it to them.

Re: Flywheel position sensor connections

First question is, does the car run ? The speed sensor reports engine RPM to Motronic ECU. It normally has a black plug. The reference sensor determines crankshaft position and is normally a grey plug. Yours have been replaced, so it may be a matter of tracing (belling out with multi-meter) back to ...

Re: mwrench subframe fix.

Good idea. Gaz, Shipper, anyone else from Oz interested ? Sorry. Missed this. What does the kit do and if it’s worthy put me down for one if it’s not too late. Thanks. Gaz, this is the steering bracket re-inforcement kit. It's a high stress area that quite often breaks on our cars. You can find goo...

Re: 2018 projects

I'm looking to push on and complete LOCUTUS this year. About 95% complete right now. This is my S38B36 swap. Have completed the ABS relocation and tested my engine harness modifications. Am getting fuel, spark, and injector pulses on turn over. O2 sensor should be arriving soon and will need to weld...

I'm following this Ted as there is some very valuable information here regarding supercharging/intercooling. I'm in a feasibility study right now regarding a little E46 M3 project I hope to get off the ground.

Thank you so much for the prayers! The pathology on my surgery will be back next week, and I'll get this wonderf...

Driving a nice car on a nice road trip sure has therapeutic properties. Next week I'm heading down south to see my daughter in Albany for Xmas. Will be driving my E46 M3. I can't wait ! Just having your health is a very good start. With good health you can always move on to bigger and better things....
