Rear end has no bounce at all!

Before you all start with Kim Kardashian jokes... I recently got an 84 633Csi. I noticed that when I press on the rear, nothing happens. It's like there are no shocks at all. It's the same on both sides. The front suspension seems ok. The question is, what exactly do I need to replace? I think the o...

In fact, I think a picture of the whole car is part of his very first post at the top! The car is black with rust and good looking wheels ...

Huh, so how does one go about getting attachments to put this into an A/C system?

Proposed replacement?

This leads to a 4 pack of a compressed dusting agent for computers. Are you suggesting that this could be a replacement for refrigerant for cars?

Spoiler - It's not a CSL (Lots of pics)

As I promised to the many folks that inquired, during my visit to the Barn Find today, I took lots of pictures. The overall summary is that it appears to be a very complete car, but it's in need of a lot of attention. There were clearly come rodents residing in the car at some time in it's storage l...

To the OP, these are still available if you're interested in RS wheels. http://bigcoupe.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25360 I will also soon have 2 other sets of RS wheels available. One set is 16X8 et11 RS211 and a very rare set of BBS RS 061 16X8 et20. Pricing will be significantly higher for the ot...

Again - will these fit and why are they different sizes?

I saw these on Craigslist. They appear to be the right size rims at 16" for two but the other two tire sizes confuse me as it appears they are 15". There's a complete set for sale but two tires are 205/65 x 16 and the other two are 225/50 x 15. Why would anyone put together a set like that? http://b...

This is why I find it hard to buy from craigslist & amazon & the like. This is also why I mentioned 'TCD' on this website. The wheels are already on a car that resembles yours, with fairly new tires. Is it that you don't like the look of the wheel? If so, I understand & will not bug you again, just...

16 x 8 with +23 offset - good?

Here's another set on Craigslist that look pretty nice. Previous messages said to look for 20 offset. Is the additional 3mm on these a deal breaker? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/5183296254.html This coupled with a 225/50 seems like a good combination. Sigh, the problem with buying used rims i...

Long term update?

So it's been about 4 years since this was posted. I wonder if this Envirosafe refrigerant continued to perform as stated. How did the A/C system fare? Was everything OK?

It anyone has experience with this, please let us know. Thanks.

Correct, I am looking for the sizes I should look for

Thanks for the discussion here. It is correct that I am looking for the actual offset that I should be looking for, not just how to find the numbers for a wheel that is for sale. So far from the responses, it looks like I should be heading for a 16" or 17" wheel. The 5 bolt patterns appear to be con...

Nice 16" off of a 840

OK, sorry for the newbie posts. I came across these 16" x 7.5. I think I saw posts where these were indicated as one of the ideal sizes for a 633. This one is off of an 840. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/5174944557.html Will these fit the 633 OK? How do I tell what the offset is for these whee...

No Ditty bop for me!

i understand the sentiment. I'll keep a lookout for some 16 or 17. I noticed there are a ridiculous number of a cars being dismantled in Craigslist. They all appear to have wheels and tires. I don't think I'll have issue with finding something, I'm just not so sure what to look for! I'll check out t...

Wheels on Craigslist - will it fit ok?

Saw these wheels for sale.

Wondering if it'll be ok on my 633 without additional spacers or something weird. Thanks.

Another angle of the barnfind car.

So this group clearly has people who know what to look for. I haven't been back to see the car, but I do have one more picture from my visit last weekend. This is a picture from the other side. Maybe there will be something interesting here. I will see the car again on Sunday. I'll get more pics.

OK, I'll take a look

Thanks for the reply. Being new to this forum and BMWs, I've got a lot to absorb. I was hoping to get assistance because I need to make a decision within a week. You see, I have to move the car out of the place it's garaged and I was hoping to get new wheels before I did. We will see how it goes.

Yup, he did say for free! There are 5 of them and I am taking them. From scouring the forums, it looks like they will work. What the heck am I going to do with the TRX wheels? Does anyone really want to deal with them due to the tire cost issue? I guess one day it'd be good to have for originality, ...

Wheels to go with the car?

I wanted to add that on a rack in the garage was a spare set of wheels. I've never seen BMW wheels like this before so I am guessing it goes with the car under the cover. The wheels are in rally good shape though.

Wheel and Tire options for a '84 633csi

Hello, I just joined this forum and also just bought a 1984 633csi. Looking in the forum, it looks like the TRX tires that are on the car are probably not something I want to keep using and replacing. The owner had another set of wheels in the garage that he said I could have. However, neither he no...

GazM3 - I am not familiar with BMW's and can't really tell the difference in the models. What shall I ask the person to look for to understand if it's a CSL? Is the aluminum hood the giveaway? Classic CSL "Barn Find"

I just met this guy in Santa Cruz who inherited his late Grandfather's belongings. I just purchased a 1984 633 csi from him. While looking at all the spare tires that were in the garage I noticed another car under a tarp. I didn't know what it was, but after coming home and doing a bit of web resear...

Looks like I'm joining you guys.

So I spent a while changing out the thermostat. There was a lot of rubbery looking gunk in it. There was no way the O-ring or circular gasket in the kit was going to fit. The good news is that it ran like a champ. We ran it for about 15 minutes and the temp needle never went over the center mark. Al...

You posted a good picture while I was writing. I believe the hose in front of your highlighted hose is attached to the front of the thermostat. And, that rusty small 5 or 6 mm head on the very top is very important!! This is called the 'bleeder valve'. After you fill with, in your case, wate...
