Can any detectives out there identify what model these calipers might be suited for? They're stamped with M. The numbers

Re: some minor issues

#3 I just replaced me passenger window button - the window would go down ok but up was very patchy. New switch fixed that. I would add that my driver's window is very slow compared to the passengers, So I'm thinking it might be a clean and lube. However, my driver's mirror is also slow so I'm wonder...

Door lock has disappeared

Ok, when I bought my car the owner said whatever you do don't use the key barrel, use the remote. The key barrel had a habit of popping out. Anyway I forgot to tell my new mechanic who was fixing the steering. When I picked up the car the barrel was gone, leaving a big black hole in the drivers hand...

Re: Steering Box, Steering Pump replaced, still not right

So looks like we're finally resolved. Reconditioned BMW pump, new filters and fluid. Hoses flushed and blown through. Wheel alignment, camber adjustment, new $380 Michelin tyre (previous BRAND NEW type was punctured right in the wall...) Drives like new. I've only taken it our in bumper to bumper tr...

Re: Steering Box, Steering Pump replaced, still not right

I'll find out from my mechanic tomorrow. I think it was the clogged filter you were talking about. I think they've pulled apart the whole system, cleaned it up, blown air through the lines, flushed it.

Re: e24 overheating?

Hi guys, Sorry to jump on this post late. I have had overheating problem with my 89' for the last couple of years. Basically in the summer or when the outside temp is over 30degs and in heavy traffic the car's temp gauge goes to 3/4 sometimes above before I switch it off and allow to cool. I have c...

Re: Steering Box, Steering Pump replaced, still not right

So my mechanic found a bunch of flakes in the filter so he' removed the lot, plus the hoses, cleaned everything out, has a new filter on order plus a reconditioned pump on the way. I'm hoping this will end well...here's what's happened so far.... Leaking steering box - reconditioned and replaced - d...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Very satisfying day of seat swapping. Drivers side was rooted, so replaced it with passenger seat, passenger seat replaced with spare black buffalo seat, with old drivers motor base swapped in. So now I have buffalo passengers, nappa drivers, but compared to how bad the seats were before its like a ...

Re: Steering Box, Steering Pump replaced, still not right

Well, changed the power steering fluid which was looking a little thin and didn't make too much difference. The power steering pump still whines away when it starts getting warm. Looks like I'll have to try another rebuilder to go through the system again.

Re: Steering Box, Steering Pump replaced, still not right

Steering Box, Steering Pump replaced, still not right

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. I recently had my steering box replaced after a failed rebuild (to fix a leak). Once reinstalled it still didn't work properly. Then I had the power steering pump replaced which seemed to make the system work for a while. But now at parking speeds the system comp...
