Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Not so much done to my E24, as noticed my E24 doinf to itself. Those who notice my occasional posts might have noticed my battle of attrition to attain a reliable working speedo, and after many months this and countless hours of fault tracing I managed this in the summer.... only for the temperature...

Re: SOLD: 1983 635CSi Auto, RHD*

Horsetan did indeed go down the CX route and recently posted some pics on PH of his steed; Here: https://thumbsnap.com/s/P3PE41NP.jpg https://thumbsnap.com/s/qUgy8qwB.jpg https://thumbsnap.com/s/bvXLPkKu.jpg Supposedly only 7 or 8 surviving non-turbo GTis currently on the road at present, and maybe ...

Re: 1984 633CSI - Cannot shut of the engine.

Problem SOLVED: I put a rebuilt main circuit board in that a fellow in the Netherlands was selling and voila - the car now turns off with the key. The right turn signal panel light work also now. And now on to fix the fan blower switch that runs on high only for heat or AC. Which main circuit board...

Loved driving it..... to pick up the bits to fix the much younger worn out E34 suspension and blown E38 radiator.

Re: Re:

The rarest would be an '88/'89 (m30b35) 5 speed as they didn't make many of those 635's, most were highline autos. More rare are the alpina and hartge cars (technically they were tuned 635's). Do you know how many 5 speed highline's they made? Almost impossible to tell really as the chassis numbers...

Re: Rarest 635 and why.

Yes Agree Sharky What about the B2 as well as they where called Alpina 630CS. B9 would as you say have to be one of the rarest of them for sure. JPS E24 very rare also, its so hard but at the end of the day soon all our daily E24s will become rare LOL. Neither the E24 B8 or E24 B2 are listed as Pro...

Welcome mirdif64, and compliments to you for demonstrating such exquisite taste when it comes to choosing your cars. Is the car new to you? You may know already, but I do believe it was originally registered with the numberplate "BMW635" Not really new to me. Had it since '94. It was originally reg...

Re: Rarest 635 and why.

I'm happy to be corrected but Alpina B8 E24's are not recognised by Alpina as 'Production cars' as they were conversions carried out to previously driven customers cars, not factory conversions on a brand new chassis. The rarest of all Production Alpina's is generally recognised to be an E24 though,...

Re: Greetings from Norway, My 85 635CSi (2016 update)

If you don't mind me asking, what tyre sizes have you fitted and what modifications did you make to get the wheels to fit? Here is my E34 Alpina B10 4.6 fitted with all four wheels at 9x18" E31 Classics and 245/40 and 265/35 tyres; the 10.5x18 rears would not fit as they would foul the rear trailing...

Re: The Fleet Review

About time for an update. The Audi died (like they all seem to do) so after much deliberation and some flirtation with some rare-ish supercars Mrs Sharkfan settled for a rather rapid commuter-mobile; a BMW 435d X-Drive M-Sport Cabriolet. We also moved house.... again. 25032017651.jpg My choice for d...

Finally fixed the in-operative speedo on my 635CSi \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ After loads of testing I finally traced it to a broken track on the circuit board that the coolant and fuel gauges are mounted to; rather than attempt to fix the track which looks like it has corroded through from a leak fro...

Re: Best fastener removal tool (EVER).

Like Ron says, scrape out as best you can and use plenty of WD40/penetrating oil of choice. I have sometimes had to resort to very accurate use of a Dremel and a small cutting wheel to make a slot for better purchase on some very corroded screw heads.
