Re: BMW E24 US front bumper tuck / lipo

On my car the gap is zero, see photo. The reason for this is that I have added a Euro license plate holder (of a 88/89 model) and moved the existing rubber strip outwards. When moving them outwards, the thicker piece of the strip goes around the corner and closes the gap. With a US license plate hol...

That's great, please share photos when ready.
You are going to update to old style chrome Euro bumper correct? Not the late model world bumpers?

Re: Temperature gauge malfunction

Thanks for the tip, I will take out the cluster soon to investigate. Checked the fuses, all fine.

Thank you for that offer Phil! I will do my best to locate it and keep your offer in mind if I can't find it.

Temperature gauge malfunction

After reinstalling my dashboard my temperature dash gauge no longer works.
Everything works except this gauge.
The gauge worked fine before removing the dashboard.

Anyone have an idea what the cause might be?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Leather Dash Cover

Sounds good Emac, very curious how it turns out! It is quite a fun job, seeing that cracked up dash getting back in shape. The prices for used mint dashboards are very high. And then still, who gives you the guarantee that it will not crack during or just after the install. They are all over 30 year...

Re: Leather Dash Cover

Thanks Emac. Sure I am willing to share the experiences I have had. I have used the leather with colour no. 60, this is black/grey. They offer a lot of colours though. You can order samples through eBay. I only removed the vents (3 on top and the adjustable ones). I did not remove the channels. So I...

Re: Leather Dash Cover

I am working on a project with this eBay dash cover. I choosed to turn the dash into a Highline / L6 model as I am also changing the rest of the car from type 2 US to type 3 Highline. You can however also buy a cover for type 2. You can see the progress I am making on this forum. I am not ready yet ...

Re: injection cleaning vacuum lines

Thanks for your reply.
That would mean the hose which I marked with 2. This has no vacuum but I did try it after the black/white check valve.
Will try it directly at the manifold with the check valve removed.

injection cleaning vacuum lines

I want to perform an injection cleaning using injection cleaner fluid. My goal was to let the motor suck it up through the vacuum lines. Drove the car to warm it up a bit and opened the can with fluid. Pulled the vacuum line (see marked with 1) but to my surprise there was no vacuum at all. Pulled a...

BMW E24 US front bumper tuck / lipo

Hope my experience helps you guys a bit. I did read quite some different stories about tucking a E24 US bumper and some of them were pretty strange.
