Re: What to do with 1983 BMW 745 Euro???

I have fond memories of the 745. Dad imported an 81 745 for mom back in the 80's when we were playing around with importing grey market cars. We drove the piss out of that thing as teenagers. From 20mph to 100mph not much could keep up with it. Dad thought the tranny was too weak, but it took a good...

Re: WTB right side headlight cover

I have searched pretty hard for one online. I found one in Canada but someone had cut a slot in it. Going to call a place today that is closeby that has a lot of old bmw's. I would like a pretty decent one. If you do find it I will make it worth the search :) thank you!

Re: No blower A/c or heat

Just in case anyone reads this thread in the future.......The problem turned out to be the connector going to the A/C transistor. As soon as you would jiggle it around the fuse would blow. I took a small pick and bent all the tabs in the connector a little tighter and all is fine.

Ok, that makes sense now. Thank you, I will have to check mine out I am sure they are more like plastic than rubber after all these years.

No blower A/c or heat

Did a lot of reading and I think I know what is wrong, but I just want to check before spending money. 87 M6. No blower in heat or A/C. Fuse #20 blows as soon as I turn the key on. Heat blower motor is fine I removed it, oiled it and put power to it and it runs super smooth. I checked and swapped th...

Re: 87 M6 wiper fuse blowing

It seems the 1986 Csi electrical diagrams match my 1987 M6. i was using the 1987 diagrams and some of the circuits are in different locations. The wrong diagram along with a randomly unplugged wiper motor was like doing a puzzle without the box top! On to figuring out why the defrost fuse is blowing...

Re: 87 M6 wiper fuse blowing

Thanks. After sleeping on it overnight I have it sort of figured out. The wiring diagram I was using (bimmertips) has different fuse numbers than the manual! Plugged everything back in (originally the wiper motor plug was unplugged) and the wipers work fine. I think the PO unplugged it when he was d...

Re: 87 M6 wiper fuse blowing

Thanks for the reply. Looks like it is something deeper. I unplugged the wiper switch at the steering column, removed the wiper relay (k10), unplugged both washer pumps, the wire going to the nozzle heaters, and the wiper motor. Still blows the fuse. What else could possibly be on the circuit? Is th...

87 M6 wiper fuse blowing

Hello, I am new here and to the e24 car but I have owned and worked on many other BMW's. I just purchased an 87 M6 and I am sorting out a few issues. Wipers do not work and the fuse keeps blowing as soon as I turn the key on. I have disconnected the wiper motor and removed the K10 relay. Fuse still ...

Re: Leather Dash Cover

Hello, new to this forum. I just purchased an 87 m6 that has leather dash issues and was wondering if anyone has used the ebay leather cover. I am not concerned with removing the dash, as I replaced the dash on an e28 m5 and dont recall it being too bad. Thank you.
