MIG, TIG or Stick?
I spent my high school years working as a welder with a gas torch but never got to use MIG, TIG and stick welders. So those of you with experience doing body and chassis restoration, please contribute to best equipment, training, videos, etc. It seems that the most ambitious 6'r rust-o-rations need ...

I have successfully used Thule racks for years clamped to the rain gutter. Lumber, bikes, canoes, all on the rack. Buy the specialized holders. I carry two bikes with the front fork clamped to the carrier and the front wheel in the trunk. The rubber pieces that go between the clamp and the gutter fa...

What are your thoughts on the ideal compressor?
I've heard that Ingersoll Rand is still high quality. Parts should be widely available and a good distribution and service network. If you have any suggestions for plumbing this in your workshop (Schedule 4 PVC pipe or copper or iron?)

Radio Shack VOMs and DVMs
With RS going belly up and only possibly retrenching, they have always had good value on VOMs and DVMs. While not a rugged as Fluke, they are certainly serviceable.

Harbor Freight Handtools
I saw a youtube video recently that identified the differences between the "pro" line which are cro-moly vs the non-pro lines which are typically vanadium (in my mind a softer metal alloy) Also, I've noticed that they now have lifetime warranty on some of their lines, which is similar to t...

I think it is also whether you need a daily driver that is bulletproof reliable. A high mileage is needy: cash or time or patience or all three.
