A small correction was made to the air flow meter using an exhaust gas analyser (no oxy sensor).

Also replaced with the 4 hole injectors, which should give better atomisation. Noticeable improvement in throttle response, but get your AFM adjusted to suit.

Interested in your pedal box conversion. Have looked into these to delete the bar and the other crap but not sure where to start.

For those running H&R springs with bilstein sports are you trimming the rear bump stops and if so, by how much? I realise this is somewhat dependent on where the rear spring perches are sitting, but assuming is in keeping with front height.

Thanks Chris

Hi Jon Yes, car's back on the road (for the minute) as I'm going to try and improve the ride quality. Brakes are certified, so all road legal and work great - teamed up the Alcons with 540I rears and 750 m/c. Ended up shimming the calipers out another 4mm. The shims slotted into the caliper brackets...

Paper and then cardboard templates to get the layout right, a CF guru to cut out from template slightly oversize, then final shaping until I was happy with fit. Same for front trim edging.

Hi Adam Heres a pic of a street legal dash I'm slowly building. Wanted a Group A replica look but also wanted to retain the factory warning lights, so going with a 5 instrument all Stack layout. The ST700 is a real cool instrument with lap timing capabilities etc if desired. I've finished the easy s...

BMW actually have both n stock in Auckland so have asked a few q's of them also. Apparently these mounts are standard across a number of models.

Front Strut Mounts

Looking at changing my springs again, most likely to H&R's. (Have bilstein sports). I think the strut mounts are still original and still ok condition, but am I right in thinking these would be contributing to a harsh ride due to age and hardening? Am a bit confused over replacements though. I a...

My '83 had a bad check valve that hung open (should be closed except when the engine is running). After putting another housing on, my oil light after coldstart is only on for about 4 seconds instead of 7-8 seconds. Similar experience. Replacement housing rectified flickering light on start up and ...

Searching for some info, this partly answers my question - its such a a bastard of a place to work in.

How are the speaker pod hinges fixed to the parcel shelf card. I'm picking they are riveted, and the carpet is glued to the card - yes?

(I have one seat out and the front of one pod out)

If you are keeping the car I would recommend replacing the reference sensors anyway. When they fail the car's a no go. After towing mine home, and some weeks later, after lots of trouble shooting it finally fired up.......then promptly died again after about 10 mins idling. In between times both ref...

Shop around for the price as it varies between certifiers. I involved them a little in the process beforehand, by clarifying the regs and sent photos of the caliper brackets before buying, that way less likely to face any issues. You'd be surprised what some people try - or maybe not. They had a Sky...

Different left and right hand springs for front. Presumably the RH side carries more weight?

I've got the red bushings whatever they are and they don't squeak, but my yellow whiteline sway bar bushes do.
