Re: So I'm doing well needed brakes on the cabrio...

Wow Bobbo, that must have been quite a bang when the rotor let go. I've actually had a few nasty stuck on rotors recently as well. Doing my brakes on my Toyota Tundra they were stuck on good. One of them I used a 12 lb sledge to bash it off. The brakes, wheels etc look really good.

Re: Series 1 central vs left side exhaust exit

Its not real obvious but these exhaust tips point to the left by quite a bit. My 79 Euro has this and I just installed the same exhaust in my NA 530i https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Screen-Shot-2016-04-07-at-10.06.05-AM.png?resize=620%2C434 https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/u...

Yes I guess you're right about the spline Bert. Still the clutch plate would have to match the pressure plate and flywheel. Sounds like a headache to me

I notice you are after the bitch clip 25111221849. I think that clip is only used on the 260/5 not the /6. You should check to se exactly what you've got and need.

Re: Series 1 central vs left side exhaust exit

I thought all Euro series one 635s and 633s got the left of center exhaust. With the pipes actually pointing to left.

Just as a curious note, Pod, how many e24s do you have and which ones? I'd be interested to see pics. Maybe a different post? Sorry to infringe on this post

Re: Getrag 250 vs 265

You definitely need the two sensor holes for your car. If it came out of an e28 it should have them. There were three transmissions in e28s, it would be good to familiarize your self with the details. Mye28 is down right now but they have a good write up on the different transmissions etc. You shoul...

Re: Hole in my transmission? Engine?

I think your best bet would be to clean the underside off of all that oily mess then take a look and see if you can see where its coming from. Also what are you having to top up? Trans or engine, Or even power steering? I've had steering fluid running back making a mess further back than youd think....

Top loader?? You mean a Ford toploader? I guess anything is possible but it would be the spline count and size that would be the problem.

Yasin, Nice work on the e24. I've watched your videos. Keep them coming. Nice to see another 944 enthusiast. I've been looking at getting one for a while. With prices rising on those its hard to find a reasonably priced one around here anyways.

Re: E12 m535 exhaust system same as 635csi 1980

OK so after taking another look at realoem, it looks to me that there are two different systems that could have come on both the e12 M535i and the euro 635csi First I looked up M535i, this is the page on realoem: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partgrp?id=4701-EUR-10-1980-E12-BMW-535i&mg=18 It ...

Re: E12 m535 exhaust system same as 635csi 1980

Hi Gentlemen, To answer this question properly I'll have to post some links to Realoem etc. There are actually two different sets of downpipes for either car and on the M535i two small center mufflers and on the 635csi one long center muffler. I know for a fact the two diff sets of down pipes are no...

Re: M90 Engine Or Not?

Like Bert says his 81 doesnt have the raised water jacket but I think all early ( like your 79) M90s have the raised jacket and 3.5 embossed. My 79 635 has the raised water jacket, white L and my Vin is 5547084. I would say the engine has been changed out for an NA b34. Unless you've missed the jack...

WTB. AFM. 0 280 203 004

The AFM in my 77 530i is acting a bit weird, the door has a weak spring, then a strong spring action partway into its swing. Its also rubbing and squeaking as it closes. 0 280 203 004 is embossed into the black plastic cover. According to Realoem this is the part no 13 62 1 362 648 I think it was us...
