Re: 635CSI Motorsport Edition - Tom Hartley

If I lived in a country where the steering wheel would be on the wrong side of the car 8) , I would go for this one:
https://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/bm ... tv52036297

Estimate from: £23,000, half the price of the red one.

Re: Crazy prices AUTOart models

These models are excellent, nice that the trunk and bonnet can be opened.
But the current prices seem to be a bit to high for me...

Sorry to see that yours damaged!

Yes, I do recognize that.
I installed a cat of a E32, perhaps that can be an option for you too.

Crazy prices AUTOart models

Have you guys seen the prices of AUTOart's scale models? I bought 2 of them 10 years ago, an E28 M5 and a M635CSi, they did cost € 80.00 new. Prices are now through the roof, see link below, ridiculous :-k https://livecarmodel.com/products/1-18-autoart-bmw-e24-m635csi-m635-csi-m6-royalblue-metallic-...

Re: Strong exhaust fumes smell

The smell is gone! :D
I exchanged:
- catalytic converter (actually the complete exhaust)
- oxygen sensor
- oil dipstick seals

One of these was causing the smell, which one I'm not sure as I replaced it all at once.

Re: Heater blower switch issues SOLVED

Solved! Works perfectly again.
I also lubricated the bearings, runs like a charm :D

I have used a Darlington MJ11028, including thermal paste.

Nice car!
I think it has been repainted, the bumper covers are missing the black trims.

Re: Remove and install the front and rear windshield

Thanks Pod!
My front windshield is in bad condition, so I can give it a try, when it breaks, it will be not a problem. Most important is too keep the rubber and chrome trims in good shape.
Surely I want to keep the rear windshield in good condition so luckily this is the easy one.

I can recommend a combination of Kontakt Chemie 60, 61 and WL. Perfect set for cleaning contacts.

Re: Engine running woes

My first guess is a bad or dirty idle control valve, or perhaps the connector on this valve is bad.

Isn't the pinout just the same as on other models in that time period?

Re: Remove and install the front and rear windshield

Thank you very much for this information.
That sounds much easier than I expected.
Do you happen to know if the rear windshield can be removed in the same way?
Thanks!

Would love to see the photos!

My car was originally bought in Encinitas and spend most of it's existence in San Diego, perhaps one of the previous owners has joined a CA meeting.

Remove and install the front and rear windshield

I want to get my car painted, the paint is weathered so a new coat of paint will do him good. Does anyone have experience with both rear and front windshield removal? I would like to get it out during the spraying of the car. The chrome trim around the windows is in very good condition, so I don't r...

Re: Got gauges?!? Series 1 custom VDO gauge installation

It's a great book! I loved to read it.
I also have the "guide to European automotive electrical systems", also a great guide, I use it in combination with the Bentley Publishes E28 service manual, good combination.
