I say good riddance to it, and be glad you didn't incinerate your car!
Yeah, and it was dripping fairly close to the exhaust - it might have got real nasty if it had got a bit worse and turned squirty on me

Job done :D It turns out it was just a transistor failure - but this transistor did not have the 1k resistor and ? diode? that all the replacement / later items / cars did, it was in fact the original (dated May 1982  ) transistor - I'd say 23 years is a pretty good innings for a simple trans...

Those wheels; would they be E39 M5 replicas ??? I think the originals are 17 or 18's but they have a similar pattern to yours. Forgive me if I'm (as usual) completely wrong. Nice looking ride though - all the bells and whistles, is the good lady pleased with her new Chariot? All the best, Sharkfan.

Thanks for the ideas; anyway, the rusty leaking thing has been removed with no noticeable effect on the car - just my HO, but the device appears to have the wrong orientation with respect to pipe alignment and manufacture to be a one way valve - and I did compare the size of this thing to a similar ...

Guys, Thanks for quick replies - this is so the best place for good advice. Dave, thanks for checking up on that other similar falure - I now plan to have a good old clean up around the fan itself to see if I can reduce the resistance and also compare resistance with the M635 fan. Ivan, excellent li...

Dave,

If you could find out that would be fab - I wouldn't mind having something to do but I'm really not in the mood for a saga.

Cheers,

Kevin.

Fan running constantly....weird

Following a spell on a battery condition my main fan now runs only on full speed - wherever the rotary control is - do you reckon the transistor has failed in the opposite way to normal, ie; normal reported failure mode is no variable speed only full on - mine is just full on . It's never dull with ...

I've just bought myself a set of these :D ; 8 and 9 inch staggered, in need of refurbishment but in good general condition. I really like them as well and when budget permits a refurb and new rubber will see them on my M635 - I reckon that'll look the business. 8) 8)

Sharks are generally solitary creatures - especially the older, rarer ones so I'd say even two or three is a rare occasion (and photo-op, of course) and worthy of a title - maybe a SharkStrike...........

In my experience just putting new engine mounts in will automatically sort out the fan/radiator problem.

I've just been a complete nerd  and printed off a couple of different sizes - the height over and including two horizontal grill bars is 3.3 cm giving an appoximate length of 12.5 to 13 cm which fits just right :D

Any boffins out there who can change the font :?:

IMHO, I absolutely love that little shark design - but if I was being picky I'd say re-do the '6 series' text in the same font as the standard rear '635CSi' badge lettering - I think that then it would really look the part. Knock it up on a similar matt black plastic as the grill itself with raised ...

Hi guys, Just to update you, I looked at the online Parts catalogue at www.realoem.com and found that there shouldn't be anything there, so I just replaced the pipe from the pump to the filter and the car still runs great. I've taken a few photo's of the offending piece should anyone want to try and...

Hi Brian,

I've got the FPR on the front end of the fuel rail, just as it should be; this little thing looks similar but slightly flatter, I'll e-mail some pics to you when I get home. Thanks for the reply.

Hi guys, I'm trying to identify the :?: little round fuel pressure regulator/ 6cm round thingy/ whatever it really is :?: , that is in line between the external fuel pump and the fuel filter in the assembly at back of the car near the diff. Mine is rusty, rotten and leaking  and when on the p...
