The buttons mentioned are below the steering column, on what I call the knee panel or cover.
The dashboard to me is where the instrument panel is? You may have one or two buttons.

Re: OBC Chiming - what does it mean?
I suggest that while you're under the car, that you check the upper & lower control arms for looseness or, if you see any separating of the rubber bushings, change them!! Now's the time! But, have everything in hand in advance. Again, it'll eliminate you going back to the job. Same for the rear ...

Re: A/C compressor belt tension
I hope after all this, that you did change the belt??
Also, for all of my compressor & alternator belt adjustments I always used a two or three ft. crowbar. Always! More leverage makes it easier.

Re: OBC Chiming - what does it mean?
Again, forgive me! I forgot you're a computer geek. Glad to know about your bluetooth set-up too. Also, in one of my early postings to you, I suggested what to replace in your suspension. Knowing what you've replaced, that job won't be too difficult for you. Just gather everything before you dive in...

Re: Car Scissor Lift Opinions
#1: The two post lift just looks precariously dangerous to me balance wise! Never used one though. #2: I bought a creeper with a steel frame from HF with a padded head rest that lifts up to become a seat using a pin to keep it in place. I can do the brakes & stuff at that level while sitting on ...

Re: OBC Chiming - what does it mean?
Enough with the OBC! :-({|= Get your suspension right,,,,,please!? On the list of twenty things to do, the OBC should be maybe,,, nineteen? Sorry! IMHO, you seem like someone doing 70mph or so on the I #80 or whatever and answering your cell phone just because it rings! What's more important,...

Hi & back atcha Vinny! You must be kinda cute after losing all that weight! I'll stop there 'cause I don't want to create questions in anyone's mind. Just to clarify, I am deeply on the straight side, just open-minded! Anyway, glad you feel better! I can relate 'cause I have Type 2 Diabet...

OH, Man!!
Other than black, Taurusrot is my fav color! Very rare E28 Euro on top of that? You did good!
You might even be able to bring back the color? Interesting how people forget to feed the leather.
Clean dash too! I smell a 5spd conversion coming very soon.
Congrats,,,,Greg

Re: Car just died on me
Ken; From the peanut gallery, this sounds different from why you posted but, the upper hose being hotter than the lower hose means that things are not flowing properly! If this happens after a good warm-up, either the thermostat is not opening at the proper time or your radiator is plugged up. Or, w...

No, I don't have the list you asked for. I wish I did have it. I don't know how to save anything to anywhere. Maybe someone will chime in with a list of grounds & where they are? I'll bet the one under the fuse box has been neglected? I also think that ground came off the battery? ...

320 Series
My same friend is looking for a website that includes something similar to a 1980 320I.
I just gave him 'R3vlimited.com' but is there one specifically for the one right after the '76 2002?
Thanx in advance,,,,Greg
Ps: I just goggled & came up empty.

I hope was the coded word method.
It was very difficult to read a coupla letters there. I still couldn't get on.

Guys, I had to check with the Grip union hall before I commited. The suction cups are Grip equipment. We use them with a pin on top to hold Medium to smaller lights on car mounts while traveling down the street. That way we could put lights right on the hood of the car. We also had 'C' stand knuckle...
