Re: M88 M635 throttle cable wanted

If a solution to this is found then would be interested in obtaining a spare 'just in case'. While mine seems in reasonable condition and is kept covered in ACF-50, at some point it will need swapping out. Kept mine lubed with engine oil for years but it gave up eventually, and very suddenly; it wa...

It deflects the water from falling directly onto the rubber grommets where the large cable looms come through from the cabin into the fan/wiper/ABS ECU scuttle area.

Put me down for a right hand and left hand pair please.

Re: M88 M635 throttle cable wanted

Short answer is yes it fits. Slightly longer answer is that there is an additional plastic bracket between the first hook and the white rubber grommet you see in the above picture - once you have CAREFULLY (you do not want to damage the plastic sheathed actual throttle cable) cut that off it fits as...

Post in the 'Wanted' section on the forum or scour ebay; just be aware that there are slight differences between the pre-1987 and post-1987 cars due to the different size bumpers, hence different part numbers too. IIRC, they are NLA from BMW.

In light of no other answers I will soon update the thread with how to fit an E30 M3 throttle cable as in the picture - mine has frayed to beyond safe use.

Coolant system refeshed as much as I could reach - I left the thermostat alone (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) and then ordered a new afm to plenum hose, underbonnet trim and an E30 M3 throttle cable for just in case.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Pumped up the tyres and took the M635 out for a spin yesterday - everything works including the AC and it still looks stunning - I've also ordered a load of hoses for a coolant system refresh - the thermostat and housing are NLA so I will have to go aftermarket.

Great news about Brucey Rob and thank you for stepping in to find out how he's doing.

Pass on all our best wishes and although he'll say no, ask him if there's anything we can do for him.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

A happy day yesterday - after a non-start last September and either no time or bad weather against me I managed to fix my ancient 635CSi yesterday. The fix itself was easy - an engine reference sensor - and fortunately I both had one spare and the old one came out relatively easily. On completing th...

sharkfan, curious how well you can actually view your gauges, given how deep they appear to be in the ashtray :-k Looks like the lid for the tray opens opposite of series 1 cars :-? I realize that you don't have to look at the gauges constantly, more curious than anything :-" The gauges are ea...

Lovely pics - I used to live in Warsaw - just down past the Russian Embassy opposite the Blue Cactus bar.

Here's my two in the snow a few years ago - sadly the pic was taken with a very poor phone camera.

M6 back from 'The Man' after a suspension and steering links/joints/rods/arms refresh - it feels much better again. Small list of fettling jobs and tiny upgrades to keep me amused for the summer. It drives wonderfully though and the engine is of course, glorious.

Re: The Complete BMW Line Up - Spring 1981 w\ Prices

So an inflation corrected price for a 635CSi would be around £48000. Wonder what a pristine one is worth in the UK today? That's a little low - depending on what inflation calculator you use it would be between £75k and £83k. The very best 635CSi's (Not M635CSi's) will fetch anywhere from mid to hi...

Re: Halo LED lights

The visual problem I have with halo's such as these is that they are different from the original early halo's in that they are a complete circle whereas the original E39 halos are a broken circle with a missing 60 degree arc at the the top; these full circle halos just look a bit more 'surprised'. Re: Sean Connery’s BMW 635 is up for auction

I was a big fan of Connery until I saw that TV interview where he said he wasn't averse to hitting women if they had a different point of view - turns out that was the reason for his first divorce.
