Re: No Crank Issue

I made up my mind to really try and fix this today, so I printed off the relevant pages from the Electrical Troubleshooting guide, made some tea, and told the wife and kids that they could find me in the garage if they really needed to speak to me. I decided to test at the starter motor, but couldn'...

Re: No Crank Issue

Thanks emac. If I'm being honest, electrical diagrams are as bewildering as they are daunting. Interpreting these things is not my strength. Nuts and bolts I'm comfortable with, electrics I am not.

I'll give learning how to troubleshoot electrics another go.....

Re: No Crank Issue

I have studied this, and other similar threads, in order to fathom out a frustrating non-starting problem I have with my car '85 M635 RHD. Turn ignition key, all dash lights illuminate, but otherwise nothing else happens. Aargh! I should point out that... - New(ish) high quality battery kept on cons...

Whoops, sorry Pod.
Yep, I think it's a pretty safe assumption that the £65k CSL, now sold on the CH website, is the one that resides at Wilton House.

Re: CC Auctions: 1985 BMW M635 CSi, Schwarz

Nope. Classic Heroes have only very recently taken it into stock and have yet to advertise it.
But this is the car that made £100k four years ago, so I wonder if CH will be tempted to ask a similar price for it.

The Earl of Pembroke has swapped this M635 for an E46 M3 CSL from the stock of Classic Heroes. and they’ll be advertising it for sale soon. I’m keen to see what they’ll ask for it.

Wowzers.

That looks an awful lot like a EAG car, shot on the same studio turntable as other EAG cars. And both dealers in Ohio.

Re: FS - UK RHD M635CSi #305

An exceptional figure in the current market, in which these cars have been struggling. Clearly the car itself is lovely, but some credit must go to the Collecting Cars setup and marketing. I don't believe for a moment the seller would have received £63k on eBay, Car&Classic etc. They must be del...

Re: Heater blower switch

I’m not ashamed to admit it - I had no idea what a Cherry Switch was.

Now that I’ve Googled it, I’m not much clearer.

Am I correct in assuming this is some sort of modification to the original BMW component? If so, what is the benefit?

FS UK RHD M635 #076

Spotted this on eBay and Car&Classic websites, from an East London trader. Nice colour combo of Platanen Green / Beige Leather. Looks like an original car that's been been holed up for a while. Nice mileage at 61k. Advert suggests usual rusty spots. If there's not much more need to it than that,...

Re: turn key, no click, nothing....starter woes

Pretty sure I have the turn key problem as identified on this and other threads. The finger of suspicion is pointing towards my ignition switch. Therefore I shall jump the Diagnostic Port pins and see if the engine cranks. However my car is UK RHD M63 with an M88/3. Can I be sure if pins 11 & 14...

When I first saw the advert, and without looking too closely, I assumed it was yours, Olympia57.

I mean how many of those can there be in Ireland??

Re: Are these original wheels?

Many other E24 owners at this point opt for BBS RC wheels. These 2 piece split rims (as opposed to 3 piece) are very similar in style, were found on later BMWs (E39 5 series & E31 8 series), and are available 17” and 18”. They’re often to as “Style 5s”. You’ll have no trouble finding them on eBay.

Re: Are these original wheels?

Yep, those are the standard wheels. They’re not worth much money because there’s only one tyre that will fit (Michelin TRX GT) and they cost about £400.00 each. Expensive, but readily available from Blackcircles and Longstone Tyres. Because of this prohibitive tyre cost, many people opt for an imper...

Re: Are these original wheels?

The only 3 piece split rim BBS RS wheels fitted to a 6 series in the U.K. were the metric sized (415mm diameter) 007 variant. Only the M635CSi had them fitted as standard, and only for the first 9 months (approximately) of production, when they were recalled in, scrapped, and replaced with a single ...

Nice, but shouldn't the electric seat controls on this Highline car be located on the side of the seat bases adjacent to the door sills?

I thought that only earlier cars had them next to the handbrake......
