Re: Starter motor options
It looks like the m70 starter is a bolt on proposition to the m88/s38/m30 family. Is this the case as the starter sounds way cooler than the original oem one.

Re: LSD Help
Also with the clutch type lsd oem bmw have pressure rings that have a bearing on how easily they lsd unit locks up. Often people just add more clutch packs for more lockup % but a less well known method is to change the ramp angle on the acceration side of the pressure rings of the diff (for memory ...

Re: Using a M30 cruise control set on an M88/3
I’m pretty sure they came with it as an option. I guess the big question is weather the 055 ecu can handle it or whether it has its own ecu. All the m30 basted hardware technically should work. Mines under a car cover at the moment so I’ll confirm whether there are 2 postions on the throttle body me...

Both my e23 & e24 had same issues with locking brakes when hot. Both solved with 1” e32 750il master cylinder replacement

Re: wheel spacers
Not sure what u are asking here. Generally all wheel spacers are hubcentric. The thinnest u can have is about 13mm as any thinner the hub lip is about 10mm and there is not enough grip for the hubcentric lip to stay on. Any more than 20mm the long bolts are marginal and need to have seperate lugs. I...

I’ve got a spare set of 415 1 piece metrics just in case I have an OEM attack and want to revert to original.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?
No worries. The metrics run a 16” centre so you can get made up new inner and outer barrels for the wheels in either 16-17-18”. It’s about 2k AUD for them in 18”. Prob slighly less for the smaller dia. If u don’t want them, I’m happy to buy the old metrics off you rather than scrapping them. They ha...

Re: Head upgrade
The m30 has great potential to make a fantastic engine in mildly modified form. Static compression is factory low Comp 8.0:1? If so you want to raise it as much as possible as aftermarket cams etc won’t work as well. How I raised comp on my m10 was to use the thinnest mls head gasket possible (027th...

Re: My quest for the ultimate driving machine...
Nice to see u still playing with the m635csi. They are a wonderful car and when u get them mechanically to their former glory (or beyond) there are one of the great driving cars that you could ever own in your lifetime. Being an appreciating asset money spent within reason will not be just poured do...

Definetly upgrade the rear with staggered. If u don’t have one already also install the rear strut brace.

Thanks Yes I’m from same area Dandenong ranges. Lots of nice roads all full of traffic and badly speed restricted Not for the 6 specifically (will fit if need be) but building a useful set of bbs rs from my metrics. 18x8.75 & 18x10.75 http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/chemicals1/3715E808-8A...

Went for a car club run on the new Michelin ps4 tyres and ds2500 pads with motul fluid. No braking or handling issues. Just amplified my slipping clutch unfortunately. And I think photobucket is allowing hosting again so here goes. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/chemicals1/495F5C86-BD2B-4D4F...

Re: another 85 M635Csi project
The bolt together ones are fine. I got mine at Schmiedmann for memory and yes in aluminium. I done all the bushes camber steering etc etc and once I put the bars on it was the most massive difference. I guess it makes all the other items work properly as there prob is lots of flex in the towers. Don...

Re: another 85 M635Csi project
If all the bushes are done definetly consider the front and rear strut tower braces.
If u can get a way of adding some front -ve camber do it.

Re: another 85 M635Csi project
The steering vagueness is prob caused my multiple factors. Firstly the steering re-enforcement bracket (weld in) should be done, then all bushes and links in the front end as they are much easier than doing the rear. Some extra negative camber on the front (strut tops) will help turn in and also som...

Re: Need shorter outer lip for HRE 504/Hayashi Techno R 16"
Perhaps if u have lots of meat on where it attaches to the hub get a machine shop to mull them down. Providing u have enough clearance to the inner strut and brake hardware. It would be a shame to lose the lip dish. If no good yes just get another 2 thinner dishes made.

Re: S38 throttle body bellows
Hey there. U can replace the rubber reducers that connect the throttle bodies to the plenum with silicone reducers. (Got mine form siliconeintakes.com). They are slighly longer than oem which have the benifit of bringing the Bellingham trumpet about 10mm further away. Gives a nice but small lift in ...
