Re: Gonna be gone for a while

Geez Ken. My thoughts are with you. Cancer is a bitch. I saw new posts on this thread and didn’t want to click on for a while. Stay positive as you can. Often sickness is more difficult for the ones around you. Hope the news is better next time.

Re: Updating an M635csi Track Car to a Race Car

Interesting direction change. Can understand to look group A with the intake but using ITB you would gain some serious power after 5000rpm. It would turn your 300bhp m30 into a 400bhp m30. Don’t the group2 e24 run m30 with ITB. Also a company called RHD just doveloped a bolt in ITB “kit” so no more ...

Re: Rev limiter

Perhaps the book graph tested in c/1984. Chassis dyno tells otherwise. They are hand built motors so often the factory claims the minimum it will make. Remember back in the 80s and 90s Germany had big taxes on cars making more than 213kw. Magically lots of cars from the time have c/210kw as their ma...

Re: Tell us what type of motor oil you prefer?

Penrite 10/10ths in the m88/3 10w60. Here in Australia we need high temp protection.

I don’t mind the penrite in the older cars as it has good zinc levels. In the modern 24v engine like my m60b40 I use liquimoly 10w60 the expensive one in the bluey Grey bottle.

Re: Rev limiter

Really? On both my dyno graphs peak power is at the cutout point 6950 and with the fritz chip 7200 The crank hub upgrade I’d have no problems spinning the m88 to 8000rpm assuming upgraded or recent changes timing chain and possibly fresh valve springs. If driving hard on a track or your favorate mou...

Expandable foam is horrible stuff but souls make a good mould for the plenum construction. Fibreglass is not much better either

Re: Rev limiter

Around the 6900-6950 mark for memory. It feels like the m88 is redlined 1000rpm short. The only major hurdle from 7500rpm is the crank hub. Upgraded ones are available. 😎

Re: My henna 84

This direction sounds exciting. I been collecting parts to eventually do my built engine. I’m even thinking using 13.5:1 comp with flex fuel e85 and pump fuel combined with water/meth port injection (all hidden under trumpets). I’m using another s38 with either 86mm or 90mm crank, as keeping the ori...

Re: Leatherique Interior Project Begins

I done a lotus white job on e34 but I wasn’t happy with it as done with a sponge. The air brush method would be significantly better imo. Having the car in and out of the mechanics hasn’t helped as white leather with grease don’t go so well. I picked up a black interior and seperate Grey sport seats...

Re: Best Master Cylinder - M635CSI

Some people like a firmer feeling pedal. The difference in firmness from oem is not massive. Yes it just bolts straight in with no pipe modification whatsoever.

Re: Best Master Cylinder - M635CSI

I’ve done the e32 750i MC conversion on both the e24 m635csi and the e23 735i. Both had locking brake issues both were resolved and both had improved pedal feel. It looks very oem and unless someone goes over the MC with a set of vernier calipers they wouldn’t know it’s not oem. Braided brake lines ...

Re: Going staggered - opinions wanted

I have the fritz chip. I don’t buy into the power conversion from rear wheels to flywheel debate as there are 2 many anomalies with it. The fritz chip should give more timing which is what lacks with the std setup. If u wanna start tuning it up prob good idea is to invest in an AEM air/fuel gauge an...

Re: Going staggered - opinions wanted

I just started upgrading bits to the suspension. Firstly done the front bushes and steering hardware, and put the upgrade sterringbracket on for a good improvement. Then added some custom offset roll centre adjuster blocks to get -2deg. Helped for sure but the big change was when I put the front bra...

Re: Going staggered - opinions wanted

I have staggered wheels by 1” but tyres are only 235 and 245. I run more front negative camber and a thinner front roll bar and I have neutral to oversteer handling. I have same fritz headers with chip and 240rwhp. With good quality tyres and a working lsd have no problem putting down with 245 Miche...

With the m60 u can get them to be leak free. I’m not quite there yet.

Be interesting to see what money it goes for. It’s steady at 20k usd.
