Re: Any News for 2018?

Hello All, I know it's getting a bit late for planning, so I wanted to give everyone an update as to the status of Southeast Sharkfest 2018. Whether by arbitrary luck or a four-year cycle of relentless phone calls on my part, the location is confirmed for the Zentrum in Greer, SC. Those of us who ha...

I agree, your color shots look like the wrong color was sent to you. It is definitely lighter than the SEM Color Chart that is on line. I have used 17093 ..... and it is a very nice jet black. Sorry that my SEM recommendation did not work for you :( PS .... always test color on a small hidden area f...

The Lapis Blue car in my pictures is an '85 M635 .... so it is a "euro car".

The cruddy looking labels on the hood were in German before I replaced them with what I could get here in the states.

I honestly believe that excellent results can be achieved using either product. The key is following the directions that are posted on the manufacturers own websites. I chose SEM because I liked the rattle-can application. I liked the results achieved on the front seats ..... which encouraged me to ...

I vote for SEM Products. Have a look at page 5 of this post. If SEM won't fix your trouble with the cracks in the bolster, have that piece replaced with new (almost matching color leather) and then re-color that to match with more SEM. http://bigcoupe.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15797&postdays=0&...

I had excellent results with Krylon Fusion (color is Red Pepper). 1st clean several times with prep sol or 91% alcohol. Tape off carefully. A couple light coats of Bulldog adhesion promoter followed by three light coats of Krylon Fusion in Red Pepper color. 2 years later .... still look perfect. See...

Isn't there some way to take the damn thing off w/o/ removing the cluster? I don't mind if it cracks because I found a place that can fabricate another using aircraft Lexan - so long as they can use the pieces of mine as a template. Anybody stupid like me to have attempted this? Even if you can get...

I agree with Ed & Jose`. Also, I've read here that the 265 is the stronger tranny! That is not the case .... but they are very close. The 280 is built to handle 280 in Nm torque. The 265 is built to handle 265 in Nm. I have several friends who have converted to a 265 because they cannot obtain ...

David.
Unless you are a stickler for originality, the Getrag 265/5 is a more readily available alternate.

Ed, At the same time, my "D" drive light is out. Is there some switch on the auto trans shifter that could be failing or worn/corroded? I'd want to test that as well before checking the bulb once the instrument pod is out. Thanks Ken There are several bulbs that light things up that are l...

If it is just dust inside the cover, then after taking the cluster out ... also carefully remove the individual gauges and work through those openings to clean the backside of the lens. If you have to take the lens out to do what you need, then you will need to break the glue joints very carefully. ...
