Re: Alpina replica (Maxilite) fitment - 8x17 et 15

I am running 245x 17 style 5s with the car lowered The offset is 20 and it doesn't rub the struts. So those should clear a lot with a 15 offset. My concern is if it will rub the inner edge of the fender. If that is the case you will probably have to roll the lip of the fender. 225's should work with...

Re: Historic cars and Historic Bridges ('86 Down Under)

Alpina’s look great on the red with black centers. Are those aftermarket 17” open lug? Been trying to find way to convert my original closed lug Alpina’s with center caps to open like yours but center caps are a problem. It's been done. I don't remember which forum did a how to. So, try google and ...

Re: Am I a traitor?

Not to worry, Bert, I'm sure that most, if not all of us, have other brands of vehicles :-" But yeah, let's see some pix Here you go. I did make a dumb mistake. As a semi newbie of Jaguars, I assumed the "S" in model type meant supercharged. It isn't. Still goes rapid even with a 3 l...

Re: Expansion Tank filling with Fuel

My 81 is a Euro. If you are a non modified Euro, your tank is vented as is mine via the hard line that exits in the rear of the car, I forget exactly where. I do not believe there is a one way valve on the hard line that is the vent line. So there can not be a vacuum in your tank, unless I am missin...

Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!

I think I am lucky living in AZ if a car is 1979 or older, or has classic car insurance, we don't have to be smogged opening up a bunch of doors and windows. I removed the little bit of smogging that was done on my car when it came in from Europe. With my pumped up motor, I don't think I would ever ...

Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!

Song, etc, low priced Dino oil is 1 thing and not always the answer. But the M30 thrives on oil with ZDDP(zinc) in it. The more the merrier. So when buying oil, c heck the label. Valvoline Dino has a lot of it .

Looks to me like they are feeding into that auxiliary fuse box, which in my 81 Euro fed after market air usually added at the dealer??

Re: Coil over suspension for a pre 82 car

All that I have left are the strut housings and yes they have a weld bead as you show. But, since these are for a pre 82 car, they probably won't work on your car

Am I a traitor?

I fell into a 2000 Jag Stype. It has a supercharged, DOHC V6 in it and goes like stink. It has only 65K on it and looks and drives as new. I found
it in Sun City which is a huge retirement community. It was at a give away price and I couldn't say no.

Get ahold of Jay Stratton. His work is impeccable. He just did my PS pump and I am very pleased. By the way, the pump was a Rockauto rebuild and lasted about 60 miles

That's who. sfdon uses. Don is one of the top restorers of E9s in the country. He uses Pete's and if they weren't good he wouldn't be using them.

Not sure about West coast rebuilders. Go to the E9 forum, at..https://e9coupe.com/forum/, and look for sfdon. He is located in Alameda CA.If he can't do it he will tell you where to get it done

I did mine with after market glass and a new seal from BMW. Myself and a friend put it in ourselves. I am totally happy with it. I simply called a glass company that does auto glass and was able to get one through them

Re: 03/89 RHD Brake Master Cylinder

If push comes to shove, White Post Restorations can rebuild it. They rebore the cylinder and then line it with a stainless steel liner and replace all of the mechanicals with new parts
